OMG !!! i love this, i love this, i love this...
i'm a metal queen for sure, but i'm also sucker for old school ska-reggae. and this, this, this, remind me so much of british old school or malay old school (rock kapak)... the voice and the arrangement and the tunes... this is something what tam spider should compose! i feel like slamming this cd on tam's head so he can go back to his original sense. but of course, as much as i like julia ni shousin rendition from abc, i still love the checkers version the best.

Charts: B'z reaches 20
Wed, August 12, 2009 (4:31am EDT)

The band B'z dominated the charts with their newest single, "Ichibu to Zenbu / DIVE." 181,000 copies of the single were sold this past week to take the #1 spot, which extends several records for them. One such record is the "most consecutive years with a #1 single," which they have now set at 20.
UVERworld came in at #2, followed by Shingo Katori at #3, under the name "Ryo-san" from the "Kochikame" drama series. GIRL NEXT DOOR was not far behind (#4), and neither was SKE48 with their major-label debut (#5). Owarai collective Red Theaters also made the top ten (#7), along with Alice Nine (#8) and Base Ball Bear (#9).

In albums, Kobukuro claimed #1 with the limited edition of "CALLING," which sold 231,000 copies. SPEED, Eikichi Yazawa, and ORANGE RANGE took the next three slots, in that order. Singer Noa entered the charts at #8, while an "Idolmaster" album landed at #10.

New TV program ‘Kan-Pani'

Recently in Tokyo KANJANI8 recorded video footage for the new TV program ‘Kan-Pani' which will be hosted by the group. The first broadcast is set to go on air on October 7th. In between the recordings, the members were asked by an interviewer what sort of things they would like to try out in their program. Shibutani Subaru eagerly replied “It might be interesting to write songs bit by bit each week. Eventually we could perform the songs exclusively on this program.” Yokoyama revealed his ‘true' ambitions by saying “I'll like to appear in a ‘gettsuku' drama.” Everyone laughed at his joke. [‘Getsuku; ?9' literally means ‘Monday night from 9 o'clock'. In Japan it is generally considered as the time when the most popular dramas are broadcast.]
For the new program the KANJANI8 members themselves will have to come up with various projects and games to tackle. In the process, they will experience new and novel things in an up close and personal manner. Using their favorite instruments, the members will each announce the program's title, and there are also plans for the group to record a single. This program will be broadcast at midnight and not in the middle of the day. “We could do things that we couldn't have done during daytime broadcasts.” (Nishikido Ryo) “I think we'll get to try out weird and strange things. It's all up to the staff, but I hope we have a chance to do those sorts of things.” (Yokoyama You) The members are confident they can take on anything!
Maruyama Ryuhei was interviewed while wearing the official costume for ‘Kan-Pani', which consisted of a bright green sports jersey with a name tag. He grinned and said “These jerseys remind me of my days as a school kid.” “There was also a whiteboard inside the set. The white-walled studio looked like a school clubroom. Maybe this is how it feels to go to a boy's school.” He seemed to have had fun throughout the filming with his fellow members!

Influenza afflicts more celebrities halting appearances
Because of the recent Influenza A infections, three members of group Kanjani 8 are currently resting at home. Their TV show studio live audience are dissuaded to attend the recording due to the risk of contamination.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Kanjani 8 member Shota Yasuda (25) is sick with Influenza A. As of yesterday, Yuu Yokoyama (28) and Tadayoshi Ohkura (24) were also diagnosed with the illness. As said in a previous article, these three members attended a Kanjani 8 fan event in Osaka together. Ohkura was said to have a temperature of over 38.2 °C. Member Shingo Murakami (27), who is acting in fall drama My Girl, is now suffering a severe cold leaving only three members of the Johnny’s and Associates group healthy.

Murakami urges group mates, Subaru Shibutani (28), Ryuuhei Maruyama (25), and Ryo Nishikido (24) to stay healthy.
Other celebrities that are afflicted with the flu are: Mai Oshima (22), original member of AKB48, Yuu Shirota (23), who was said to star in Samurai Seventeen, comedic duo Bananaman member, Yuki Himura (37) also appearing in My Girl, and Kuro-chan (32) of Yasuda Dai Circus. The flu has greatly affected this upcoming drama season even before it started. Because of its contagious nature, cast of ROMES, My Girl, and Samurai Seventeen should be monitored for possible infections.
