MAKING MASHED POTATO GRAVY....
The ingredient. 1 Tbsp plain flour 1 Tbsp unsalted butter 1 Beef stock cube 2 Cups of water 1 tsp corn flour 1 tsp dark brown sugar 1 tsp coarse black pepper A dash of black pepper powder 2. Melt the unsalted butter 3. Add in 1 Tbsp of plain flour to the melted butter 4. Stir the mixture under very slow fire (do not stop stirring) 5. While stirring the mixture, mix 1tsp of corn flour with 1 cup of water. Can also be prepared earlier.. 6. Stir the mixture until it turns brownish and little oily. 7 Pour the corn flour mixture 8. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed without any lump. Add in 1 cube of beef stock. Stir until the stock dissolved 9. Add in 1tsp of dark brown sugar. Stir until it dissolved 10.Add in coarse black pepper 11.Add in a little black pepper powder * coarse black pepper brings out the taste. The powder is for making it hot. Can be omitted if coarse black pepper suite your taste. 12. Add another 1 cup of water and stir the gravy. If the gravy is too watery, then add corn flour little by little until you get the desired thickness. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
Making the mashed potato
Cut 5 pieces of russet potatoes (approx 1KG) into cubes. Put in the pot and pour the water just enough to cover the potatoes
Boil the potatoes until soft and tender.
Under very small fire, cook until the water dried up.
Add salt to taste
Mashed the potatoes until fine in texture.
add ¼ cup of fresh milk to the potatoes.( can be substitute with whipping cream or evaporated milk )
Keep mashing until its texture becomes a soft and creamy.
Place on a plate or small bowl.
Pour the gravy onto the shaped potato. |
