Renault launches 2008 roadshow tour
Following the official presentation of the team's new 2008 car last month, Renault has announced its plans for an expanded Roadshow campaign this year. Remaining faithful to the original philosophy, which has always been to take Formula 1 to the people and open the doors to this exclusive world, the Renault Roadshow continues for a fifth consecutive year, demonstrating its cars in some of the biggest cities on the planet.
Launched in 2003, the programme has allowed more than two million people around the world to participate in a unique sporting spectacle that combines technical excellence with passion and excitement.
Flavio Briatore, Managing Director of the Renault F1 team commented: "The essence of the Roadshow is about bringing F1 to the fans. We drive our cars in front of the public, on the roads of their city or during a World Series by Renault event. It's about giving people the opportunity to approach the cars, the team and the drivers; to do things that they would never normally have the opportunity to do during the course of a Grand Prix weekend.
It will be in May, on the streets of Marseille (in the south of France), that Renault will begin its 2008 Roadshow programme, demonstrating its cars on the public roads in front of what will hopefully be a large number of fans once again.

Malaysia closing on '09 night race
Next year抯 Malaysian Grand Prix is edging closer to becoming Formula 1抯 second night race after the Sepang circuit confirmed it was in discussions about securing a floodlighting system.
The Sepang circuit outlined its aim to follow the lead of Singapore and stage its 2009 grand prix at night last month, with such a move being encouraged by F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone so that some of the flyaway races can be broadcast at a more convenient time in Europe.
And Sepang抯 plans seem to be moving forwards, with its chairman Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir revealing that the circuit is in the process of securing a bespoke lighting system.
