usc trojans vs michigan wolverines at rose bowl, it's really a defensive battle. both teams are tied at a field goal a piece at half-time.

did you see JaMarcus Russell of LSU? he's big. at 6' 6", he's not your typical qb but he definitely can play qb. he's got a very strong arm and very mobile. hopefully he'll stay another year in school before turning pro so that he can polish his qb skills and won't get screw up by the raiders!

Big Ten chief may be biggest obstacle to NCAA football playoff
They shout on talk radio shows, write screeds on message boards and plead with the sports gods in a futile effort to be heard by the faceless Bowl Championship Series. They are the growing number of fans who want a college football playoff. They want it now, dammit. They want to know how to get it done. They want to know who the hell to call.
Lucky Jim Delany.
The mad men and mad women crying out for the death of the BCS may recognize Delany's name but probably wouldn't recognize his face. They likely have no idea he rose from humble beginnings, took over as commissioner of the Big Ten in 1989 and brokered deals that extended his influence far beyond the Midwest. Chances are they have no clue Delany, 58, has emerged as a man widely considered the most powerful figure in college sports and the biggest obstacle to a Division I-A football playoff.
BCS haters may decide Delany is public enemy No. 1. But inside the corridors of college athletics, he is respected, envied and, in some cases, feared.
Delany, according to one colleague, can exhibit "Doberman-like aggressiveness." With a bite to match his bark, he has further enriched the wealthiest conferences and cemented the BCS system that has drawn the ire from two of the most powerful men in his own conference |

Trick plays could impact BCS title game
BCS title game could be a bag of tricks
By BEN WALKER
AP National Writer
January 6, 2007
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- The hook-and-ladder was great. The Statue of Liberty was tremendous. The flanker passes, onside kicks and fake field goal were beautiful.
Just wondering: Are there any trick plays left this bowl season?
Sure, says Florida. Plenty.
Wide receiver Jemalle Cornelius has one in mind -- Special Trips Right Cougar Reverse Pass Left.
He even has someone in mind to make that end-around toss against No. 1 Ohio State in the BCS national championship game Monday night.
"Me," he said. "We all want to be the quarterback. We're always telling the coaches to put us in."
Not that the No. 2 Gators need much prompting to break out their gimmicks. Minus a go-to running back, but blessed with a lot of speed in the slots, they love to gamble with gadgets.
Plus, coach Urban Meyer warned, "We have had a lot of time to prepare."
"I would say they run more than anybody except Boise State," Buckeyes defensive back Brandon Mitchell said. More here.

yep...yep...yep... big ten teams are overrated. gators ran over the buckeyes in tostitos bcs championship game. they shutdown ohio state offense in the second half and added one td of their own to win national championship by the score of 41-14.
