bukan niat saya nak membela imran.

setakat hairan, mengapa lagu dayang yang dicut and paste jadi issue. kan ada undang2 dalam industri muzik. tak boleh jiplak, tak boleh guna lagu, suara orang sebarangan tanpa izin dari pihak2 tertentu seperti record label dan sebagainya.

kalau dia dah minta izin, rasanya dia boleh gunakan mengikut perjanjian. sebagai penyanyi baru, apa yang imran dapat jika tak guna proper channel? bukan kah itu akan memakan dirinya sendiri?

in matters of acknowledgement of artistes involved in his album, their names are stated on his album cover. isnt that enough? like he said in his blog, what journalists wish to write in their article is beyond his control.

saya membuat ulasan hanya sebagai peminat biasa nya saja, bukan fanatik.

jika nak kira fanatik, saya lebih merembes dan teruja dengan taufik dan hady mirza!

Bila aku kata imran抯 exploitative aku tak bual kosong. Aku ambik lagu dayang sbg contoh kerna aku lihat di situ bukti nya. Coba ko imagine lagu itu tanpa lagu dayang . Boleh kah lagu itu menarik utk pendengar seperti sekarang? Adakah aku cakap imran tak boleh ambik lagu org? Aku kata imran抯 exploitative. Beza ye antara tak boleh ambik lagu org dgn exploit. Think abt it. Exploit = use to one抯 advantage

So all the talk abt distancing himself fr the two idol抯 is all fake when he obviously take another to ride on

Selagi Dayang beri kebenaran, tu bukan Exploitasi. Bagi aku Imran mengunakan kebijaksanaan untuk mengambil peluang yang ada. It shows how creative this guy this, dari lagu yg medak kepada lagu hits. Lagipun, aku rasa Dayang pun pasti suka sbb suara dia tetap kumandang di corong radio walaupun belum ada album baru. Royalty pun mestilah dia dapat. Hmmm... dah banyak juga org lain buat lagu macam tu, cuma antara tahu dan tak tahu. Satu rakam di Indonesia, dan yg sorang di Malaysia kemudian, mereka gluekan lagu2 tu dan buat adjustment here & there.. Voila! jadi lagu hits.

to me, lagu taurus tu kekuatannya dari liriknya yang bernas, bukan suara dayang. jarang kita dengar lagu-lagu popular masakini yang menggunakan peribahasa. imran amat bijak menyusun peribahasa2 mengikut rentak lagu (saya tak tahulah kalau yang ini pun akan dipertikaikan). cukup menyegarkan.

anyway, ezy2blow macam tau hal dalaman nampaknya? ye ker? jika tidak, mengapa nak kecuh-kecuh hal ni? tak baik tau memburuk-burukkan orang lain. adakah anda peminat number satu taufik? kalau betul apa yang awak sangkakan tentang imran, biar lah mereka berdua yang selesaikan sendiri, memandangkan mereka berkawan baik. sebagai peminat, tak perlu masuk campur benda-benda macam ni semua. unless you have vested interest in it.

jangan marah ya!

SITI NURBAIYAH NADZMI reviews a lacklustre "Malay Grammys" awards show.

EVEN before the last award was presented, it was clear that Malaysia ruled the Planet, sweeping nine awards to her credit.

Anugerah Planet Muzik 2007 (APM), held at Singapore Indoor Stadium recently and carried live over television in Indonesia, Brunei, and Malaysia (through Astro Ria), saw the country抯 top performers breaking Indonesian dominance and stamping their mark in the region.

With only 66 entries against a total of 422 submitted, the organisers were jittery and concluded that the dwindling number of entries was a significant symptom of an ailing industry. A misplaced notion, evidently.

On the whole, the event, dubbed by some as the Grammys of Malay Music, was lacklustre and dull. The often riotous presenter, Aznil, could hardly breathe life into the 180-minute show. The other presenters, Indonesia抯 Rika and Singaporea抯 Suhaimi and Fiza O, seemed stuck with stale jokes, bad scripts and poor choice of outfits.

An hour into the show, hope arrived with Jaclyn Victor making her appearance with a black V-neck and gold sequinned long dress.

Her power-packed rendition of Cinta Tiada Akhirnya was a much needed shot of energy into the lifeless show, which was immediately picked up next by Noryn Aziz with Lara. Noryn, who is in a class of her own, displayed her prowess with jazzy numbers.

It was not a very wise decision for the organisers to on stage a young talent paired with a seasoned performer. The aftermath was disastrous as it was with Singapore Idol 2 winner Hady Mirza who came on to duet with Zainal Abidin in the definitive environment number Hijau.

Hady seemed out of her depth next to Zainal Abidin who came on stage calm and collected, ad-libbing the chorus.

The scene was more or less repeated when Siti Nurhaliza took the stage with Taufik Batisah and Gita Gutawa; the performances fell flat and were discordant.

Good as Gita, Hady and Taufik could be individually or at other times, it was simply suicidal to make them sing out of repertoire let alone against such as Siti Nurhaliza and Zainal Abidin.

The organisers, Mediacorp Radio Warna and Ria, truly need a longer list of artistes from the region to celebrate the event. It felt rather limiting when the handful who showed up were filling in either as award presenters or merely there to collect their trophies.

On the awards side, Siti Nurhaliza, for the seventh consecutive year claimed her throne as the most popular female artiste in the three countries.

Voted by fans all over Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei, the award is a crystal indication of Siti Nurhaliza抯 undisputable wide fan base in this region.

And she claimed another playing field, when Biarlah Rahsia, the song she wrote with Melly Goeslaw, bagged the Best Song of the Year, beating equally strong compositions like Juwita (M. Nasir), Cinta Terakhir (Irfan Samsons/Ari Lasso), Demi Waktu (Enda Ungu), Hapus Aku (Giring/Ariel/Nidji) and Kenangan Terindah (Irfan Samsons).

She also took home the Best Female Artiste award, which went to Jaclyn last year.

In her acceptance speech Siti Nurhaliza, who attended the event with her husband Datuk Khalid Jewa, said that winning the awards was an incentive to work harder in appreciation of her supportive fans.

揟his award is special to me because Transkripsi is the first album produced by Siti Nurhaliza Productions and I owe it to my fans to produce better albums in the future.

tak mengapa, sebab, yang menulis tu pun wartawan dari malaysia, tentunya bersifat patriotik. satu sifat yang boleh dibanggakan.

namun, agak keterlaluan untuk mengatakan persembahan hady as disastrous. he wasn't off pitch, off key, off tune etc etc. membandingkan hady dan zainal bagai membanding anak dan ayah. tentulah ayah lebih banyak pengalamannya. jadi perbandingan ini tak tepat. zainal can be considered a legend. dan hady pula baru mengorak langkah.

again, the writer made a silly comparison between siti and gita. gita is only 13 for goodness sake and she's classically trained, hence, the different style of singing as compared to Siti's who we are so used to. taufik fared well too with no hint of pitchiness.

pada pendapat saya, persembahan irwan syah lah yang paling mengecewakan kerana tidak menunjukkan komitmen yang kental dalam sebuah acara berprestig. statusnya sebagai pelakon yang dipinta menyanyi dijadikan alasan untuk tidak dapat memberikan yang terbaik, secara peribadi, saya tolak! pada mata kasar saya, beliau tidak komited. mengapa penulis tidak menyebut pun tentang persembahan hambar irwan? penulis tu minat pada dia mungkin??

ramai penonton yang suka dengan persembahan hady, taufik dan gita, baik dari singapura atau malaysia. ada juga yang not impressed. itu lumrah! berkara biasa dalam dunia seni.

mcam durian, ada yang suka, ada yang benci, tapi lebih ramai yang suka dari yang benci.

whatever it is, i have my own reasons for liking Imran... and Taufik... and Hady...

crystal suka suara diorang, lagu diorang...i don't really care about these minute issues. as long as the end product is good, both the artist & the composer will have my support.
