Tristan da Cunha is part of an archipelago located in the South Atlantic Ocean. The island is about 2,400 kilometers (1,500 miles) from the nearest human settlement, which is the island of Saint Helena. It is also roughly 2,800 kilometers (1,750 miles) from South Africa and over 3,200 kilometers (2,000 miles) from South America. Despite this extreme isolation, it is home to around 260-270 people, who mostly live in a small settlement called "Edinburgh of the Seven Seas."

Tristan da Cunha is famous for its volcanic origin, with a large, central peak rising over 2,000 meters (6,700 feet) above sea level. Despite the beauty of the island, life there is challenging due to the remoteness, harsh weather, and limited infrastructure. The island has no airport, so the only way to reach it is by sea, which can take several days from the nearest port.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) telah mengumumkan rancangan pembinaan KLIA3 bagi menangani peningkatan jumlah penumpang yang semakin ketara setiap tahun.
Terminal baharu ini dijangka menjadi penyelesaian jangka panjang untuk memastikan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) terus memenuhi keperluan perjalanan udara yang semakin meningkat.
KLIA3 akan dilengkapi dengan teknologi terkini dan kemudahan mesra pelanggan bagi meningkatkan pengalaman penumpang.
Projek ini juga diharap dapat menyokong pertumbuhan sektor pelancongan dan ekonomi negara, selain memperkukuh kedudukan KLIA sebagai hab penerbangan utama di rantau ini.
Pembinaan KLIA3 mencerminkan komitmen MAHB terhadap perkembangan industri penerbangan negara sekaligus menyediakan infrastruktur yang mampan untuk masa depan.
