Host Awal Ashaari injured in car accident
MALACCA: Popular TV host Awal Ashaari sustained light injuries after the vehicle he was traveling on, skidded and overturned along the North South Expressway (NSE) near to the Ayer Keroh rest area today. In the 11.15am incident, Awal, 34 was on his way to host the Melodi programme at 'Jom Heboh' carnival at Stadium Hang Jebat in Krubong. The car was driven by his close friend, Izuan Mokhtar, 31. Awal when met at the hospital said he only sustained injuries at his lips while Izuan had wounds on his elbows. "Earlier this morning, I had a fever so I called my best friend Izuan to fetch me for the ‘Jom Heboh’ carnival in Malacca. "We started our journey at 9am and about hours later, I found myself lying on the road shoulder at the accident scene. "Both of us were rushed to the Malacca Hospital for further treatment and thankfully, we both are okay," he said. It is learnt that the duo would be discharged from the hospital today.
