3.1GHz and 3.0GHz, Computex
AMD is preparing to launch Phenom II X2 500 series based onCallisto and this dual core AMD抯 first 45nm dual core in June. We believe thatthis should take place at upcoming Computex show and this should happen at somepoint on June 3rd.
Callisto is 45nm dual-core harvested from quad-core Deneb, where two cores are disabled. The star CPU is Phenom II X2 550, 3.1GHz clockedCPU with 2x512KB L2 cache and massive 6MB L3 cache.
The Phenom II X2 550 will launch as a Black Edition part, andit should be able to overclock just fine. There is a slight chance that withsome boards you will be able to unlock the other cores.
Phenom II X2 545 has the same specs but it won抰 be an unlocked BlackEdition product and naturally it's clocked at 3.0GHz. With a TDP of80W, it isnot the coolest CPU around, but it should get more competitive againstPentiumsand Intel抯 Core 2 processors.
Regor, the dual-core 45nm native K10.5, comes in early Q3.
