Angelina Jolie in Talks to Play Famous Disney Villain
Angelina Jolie could soon play a famous villain on the big screen.
The actress, 34, is in talks to assume the role of Maleficent, the wicked fairy godmother, in a live-action remake of Sleeping Beauty to be directed by Tim Burton, the Los Angeles Times reports.
In the original animated flick, Maleficent cast a spell on Sleeping Beauty that caused her to prick her finger and sleep for 100 years, awaking only after getting kissed by a prince.
Disney declined to comment, and Jolie's manager could not be reached by comment by the Times.
Jolie is currently filming The Tourist alongside Johnny Depp in Venice, Italy. Her next kid-friendly flick, Kung Fu Panda 2, hits theaters in June 2011. |
