pesal payah benar nak jumpa artikel dlm BM

PETALING JAYA: Claims that 1MDB funds were transferred to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's (pic) personal accounts is "political sabotage," says the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The Wall Street Journal and the Sarawak Report published articles on Friday claiming that almost US$700mil (RM2.63bil) of 1MDB funds had been transferred into the Prime Minister's personal accounts.

"Despite the Prime Minister's successful stewardship of Malaysia's economy against global headwinds - as recognised this week by Fitch's upgrade - there have been concerted efforts by certain individuals to undermine confidence in our economy, tarnish the Government, and remove a democratically elected Prime Minister.

"These latest claims, attributed to unnamed investigators as a basis to attack the Prime Minister, are a continuation of this political sabotage," the PMO said in a statement on Friday.

It said that the criminal leaking of documents, doctoring and extortion have taken place to "mislead the media and public".

"So it is incumbent on responsible members of the media not to accept documents as genuine unless verified by the appropriate authorities," it said.

The Prime Minister's Office also noted that 1MDB had already stated that the company never provided funds to the Najib in a statement that was released earlier on Friday.

Najib must resign if he can’t dispute claims in WSJ, Guan Eng tells reporters
BY LOOI SUE CHERN AND JENNIFER GOMEZ
Published: 3 July 2015 11:59 AM

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng says today Datuk Seri Najib Razak should sue the Wall Street Journal if its report that 1MDB funds were channelled into his account is untrue. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, July 3, 2015.

Datuk Seri Najib Razak should resign if he fails to explain claims in the Wall Street Journal that billions of ringgit were channelled to his personal bank accounts, Lim Guan Eng says today.

The DAP secretary-general said this was the first time he was asking the prime minister to resign, following the expose by the business daily, because of the severity of the allegation.
"I have never asked him to resign. We hope he can respond to the serious allegation.

“Najib should file a suit in the US against the publication to clear his name if necessary. But first, he must explain. Failing which, he has to resign.
"This is an allegation of unprecedented scope and shocking in scale... before this, there has never been such allegations against a prime minister," he told reporters today in Juru after launching the Taman Kekal Pengeluaran Makanan.
The WSJ had based the story on documents from a government probe.
This marked the first time Najib has been directly linked to the probe into state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Najib heads its board of advisers and has been under growing political pressure over the fund, which has chalked up RM42 billion debts.
The government probe, WSJ reported, showed what investigators believe to be the movement of cash among government agencies, banks and companies linked to 1MDB before it ended up in Najib’s personal accounts.
WSJ said it reviewed bank transfer forms and flow charts put together by government investigators which reflected their understanding of the cash flow.
It remained unclear where the money came from and what happened to the cash funnelled into Najib's account.
Meanwhile, PKR said it was concerned over the reports and urged the prime minister to sue WSJ to clear his name.
Vice-president Tian Chua said Najib should have no issues doing this, given that he had sued other media outlets over so-called inaccurate reporting, such as Malaysiakini, Media Rakyat and PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli.
He added that lately, Putrajaya had also warned business newspaper The Edge over its supposedly inaccurate reporting.
"So if the prime ministeVice-president Tian Chua says Umno must be responsible and look after the people's best interests. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Nazir Sufari, July 3, 2015.

r is confident enough, he should sue Wall Street Journal for inaccurate reporting to clear his name," Tian Chua said at a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.
WSJ claimed today that investigations into the debt-ridden 1MDB had allegedly uncovered billions of ringgit channelled into Najib's personal accounts.
The documents showed that US$700 million (RM2.67 billion) was moved among government agencies, banks and entities linked to 1MDB and finally ending up in the prime minister's personal accounts in five separate deposits, WSJ said.
Tian Chua questioned if there would be suppression of information, given that the source of information was Malaysian investigators.
"But the least the prime minister can do now is to go on leave until MACC investigates him," Tian Chua said referring to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
PKR's Alor Setar MP Gooi Hsiao Leung, however, said Najib should resign, given that the report revealed that one of the transfers of monies into his account was done two months before the 13th general election.
He said this indicated that the money was used to fund the GE13 campaign.
"I agree that investigations must be done immediately but I also think the PM has no option but to resign.
"(Nearly) 52% of the people voted for a change in government but were cheated through election fraud," Gooi added.– July 3, 2015.

WSJ dedah duit masuk ke akaun Najib, tak cakap pun Najib guna duit tuuu...tetiba plak nafi Naj ...

ini la style makcik PPRT tak habis SPM berhujah

cari kesalahan dalam ayat, padahal sendiri bodo tak paham

kalau ambik sepatah ayat je, memang la tak nampak dow

kat bawah ni ada penafian

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 ― A Putrajaya spokesman has insisted to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that Datuk Seri Najib Razak has never exploited funds from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) for personal use, after the international business paper confronted the government with claims that some US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) have been deposited into what is believed to be the prime minister's private accounts.

The daily, citing documents from Malaysian investigators currently scrutinising the troubled 1MDB's financials, claimed that the money trail shows that the cash was moved between government agencies, banks and companies before it ended up in Najib's accounts.

These documents, said WSJ, include bank transfer forms and flowcharts put together by investigators to shed light on 1MDB's cash flow. The paper said this is the first time a direct connection to Najib has been established in the probe on 1MDB.

“The prime minister has not taken any funds for personal use,” the daily quoted a Malaysian government spokesman as saying in response.

“The prime minister’s political opponents, unwilling to accept his record or the facts, continue to try to undermine him with baseless smears and rumours for pure political gain.”

The paper also spoke to a spokesman from 1MDB who claimed ignorance in the matter.

“1MDB is not aware of any such transactions, nor has it seen any documents to this effect,” the spokesman reportedly told WSJ.

The spokesman also pointed out to the daily that doctored documents have been used in the past to discredit Putrajaya and the Finance Ministry-owned 1MDB, referring to the email correspondence between PetroSaudi International (PSI) and 1MDB that were purportedly leaked to Sarawak Report by former PSI director Xavier Justo.

Justo is currently under the custody of Thai police.

According to WSJ, the original source of the funds is unclear and the investigation does not show what happened to the money after it was deposited into Najib's accounts.

Citing documents that it claimed to have viewed, WSJ said that investigators discovered five separate deposits from two sources that were made into Najib's accounts.

The largest two transactions, it said, were for US$621 million (RM2.3 billion) and US$61 million  allegedly made in March 2013, shortly before the tumultuous Election 2013 in May.

“The cash came from a company registered in the British Virgin Islands via a Swiss bank owned by an Abu Dhabi state fund.

“The fund, International Petroleum Investment Co, or IPIC, has guaranteed billions of dollars of 1MDB’s bonds and in May injected US$1 billion in capital into the fund to help meet looming debt repayments,” WSJ reported.

The daily said, however, that it could not reach IPIC or the British Virgin Islands company, Tanore Finance Corp, for comment.

A further transfer of RM42 million, purportedly made into Najib's account at the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015, is believed to have come from SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1MDB that was in 2012 parked under the Finance Ministry that Najib heads, WSJ said.

“The money moved through another company owned by SRC International and then to a company that works exclusively for 1MDB, and finally to Mr Najib’s personal accounts in three separate deposits, the government documents show,” the report said before adding that SRC director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil has declined to comment on the matter.

According to WSJ, however, investigators said that one of the companies that the RM42 million passed through was Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd, a firm that provides corporate social responsibility programs for 1MDB's charity foundation.

“The Wall Street Journal examination of the use of funds tied to 1MDB for Mr. Najib’s election campaign showed that the money was slated to be used for corporate social responsibility programs as well,” the daily said.

1MDB is currently under probe for alleged impropriety by a number of agencies, including the Auditor-General's Department, the police and Bank Negara Malaysia.

An interim report on the A-G's probe will be submitted next Thursday to Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
