On September, the 8 country representatives including Malaysia, that comprise the World Vision Asia-Pacific region unaminously chose its First Asian Ambassador for Child Sponsorship Poject in the person of Jerry Yan. When he learned about it, he immediately took leave on his busy travel schedule and took the post. His first stop will be in Mongolia to visit his long time sponsored children.
Because he is the First World Vision Asia-Pacific Ambassador for its Child Sponsorship Program, apart from Taiwan, he will go to also go to Japan on November 11and then proceed to Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines to personally see and share child care to the people of the world.
World Vision Over-all Resources and Development Director Guo Xiu Ling revealed that because Jerry is the common Asia-Pacific ambassador, they will also invite Bei Yong Jun, Rain and other international artists to help Jerry accomplish this great task.
In this present selection for spokesman, among those listed aside from Jerry were Bei Yung Jun, Rain, Andy Lau and others. TW World Outlook Resources and Development Director Guo Xiu Ling said, "the contract will go on continously until it expires on January 31 next year. Jerry's fans even took the initiative to sponsor 29 children from Mongolia for 5 years now. " Before he went inside the customs area Jerry said, " I'm deeply touched, I wish everyone could help these children."

Previous day, Jerry went to far Mongolia to visit his sponsored children
Appointed as World Vision's Child Sponsorship Ambassador for Asia-Pacific, Jerry Yan didnt hesitate to put aside his work and took the early flight to Mongolia the other day to visit his actual sponsored two boys and 1 girl schoolers as well as the native poor children.
Jerry wore light casual clothes on his way to Mongolia the other day. with stopover for a night in Beijing. Then the next day, he would again fly towards Ulan Bator, Mongolia. Putting down his giant star image, Jerry started off his spokesman identity and travelled in all-simple conformity. Thus, together with his staff, they all took the economy class and would stay in a simple and less-amenities hotel.
In this Mogolian trip, Jerry would be bringing all his fans blessings as he goes to visit the native poor children. Among his special mission is to seek future sponsors to some 35,000 poor children.
The tall and heavy-built Jerry Yan is but a soft heart. Regarding the poor children's hard life, he would experience their real life, and in order to get close to the children and easily communicate with them, he gathered research on how to talk and listen to the children. To do this, he will do some magic tricks for them and even sing some songs.
Media who sent him off at the airport asked him on what he would do if he cant stip himself from crying when he sees the poor children. He sensibly said that he would cover his eyes with sunglasses.

As Jerry sits in economy class, passengers gave curious stares
that caused Jerry to blush and get shy even more

As spokesman for Wold Vision's "Child Sponsorship" for Asia-Pacific Region, Jerry Yan set off to Mongolia yesterday to actually visit his 3 sponsored children. Being the idol and center of attention, he was followed by his fans, from the Taoyuan airport to Hong Kong and then to Beijing, where someone mistaken him as Jay Chou!
Signing autographs, shaking hands and picture-taking, Jerry was almost busy during this 8 hour flight in the economy class. At the Beijing aiport, a famous passenger called him, "Hey, Director Chou!" A man beside said, " lease! Jay is not his height, OK?" When Jerry heard this he just smiled.
Jerry will enter the below zero Mongolian desert climate bringing "secret gifts" for his 3 boys and 1 girl schoolers and prepared some magic tricks for them. What did he bring in his suitcase? He said, "of course there are medicines". What about protection coats? He smiled and said, "I'm afraid of cold" but his staff prepared thick cold-resistant clothes for him.
After he was warned that he might not take a bath there, he just said, "I can take sponge-bath." He also continued that he must shampoo his hair even with the cold water. If there is no water, he would also "sponge bath" his hair.
