Bodies from Malaysia Airlines Crash Left In Deserted Train Station
Their final destination is unknown.

TOREZ, Ukraine - An unknown number of bodies from the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash have been loaded onto refrigerator wagons for transportation about ten miles south of where the plane fell when a missile downed it on Thursday.
BuzzFeed saw monitors from the OSCE, a security agency with observer status in the east Ukraine conflict, inspect three large gray railway cars at the train station in Torez on Saturday morning. Heavily armed, well-trained rebels opened the doors, letting off a foul stench of decomposition inside. It was unclear whether the refrigeration was working.
Michael Bociurkiw, a spokesperson for the monitoring mission, said that they had seen bodies in body bags inside the wagons, but had no way of telling where they were from or how many there were. Personnel were “not allowed in without special equipment” due to the stage of decomposition the bodies were in after lying in a field in 85-degree heat for three days, Bociurkiw added. “The stench is very very bad,” he said.
Ukraine’s emergency ministry told the Associated Press that rebels forced emergency workers to remove 196 bodies from the site overnight, but did not know where they had been taken. An aide to the prime minister of the self-proclaimed rebel Donetsk People’s Republic told BuzzFeed that same number were being transported to the railway wagons.
The further destination of the corpses is unknown. Ukraine wants them taken to Kharkiv, a major city 185 miles north of the crash site with facilities to store all 298 victims’ bodies and house their relatives. Rebels have mentioned other cities as possible destinations and removed about 30 bodies to a morgue in their stronghold in Donetsk, the provincial capital.
The wagons were guarded by well-equipped forces from Ukraine’s disbanded Berkut riot police, a far cry from the shambolic scenes at the crash site on Saturday.
However, the armed men left along with the OSCE observers a few minutes later. The wagons stood alone on the platform with nobody to guard them.

Why the MH17 crash site may make sending victims home harder
A forensic dentist who specialises in plane crashes told Fairfax Media the identification will be difficult given the severity of the damage wrought on many of passengers.
“They’ve fallen so far with a lot of fuel, so most will have facial injuries and there will be significant burning and fragmentation,” Dr Chris Griffiths said.
Dr Griffiths is an adjunct associate professor at Sydney University and a retired Air Commodore, having served as the Assistant Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force.
He has served on victim identification panels for Interpol and helped identify remains after the Bali bombings and the 2004 tsunami.
Dr Griffiths said investigators will rely on DNA more than the other two stand-alone identifiers: fingerprints and dental records.
This is especially true for the 80 children who died in the crash, who are unlikely to have fingerprint or dental records.
“Usually you might find that if there is severe burning, there may be some you can’t identify. But even after the fires in the Bali bombing, we identified everyone in end.”
Dr Griffiths says looters and disruption to the scene could make allocating scattered body parts to the right person harder.
“It's good that we already are pretty sure how this occured, so the issue is about repatriation," Dr Griffith said. "When an airline goes down in western country, police will seal it off straight away and search by grid square, recording and photographing where each body part is found, so it’s easier.”
He adds the biggest challenge is ensuring safety for the specialist teams and setting up a temporary mortuary and morgue with cool room facilities near the site.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has already warned Australians may have to wait weeks before the bodies of those who died on the plane are returned. Dr Griffiths said it could stretch into months.
Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian coroner’s court Samantha Hauge told Fairfax Media the Australian Federal Police were coordinating the initial phase of the identification and repatriation process.
She added both the court and the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine will provide whatever assistance they can, but at this stage they can only liaise with the Victorian Police, who in turn are liaising with the Australian Federal Police and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

aku rasa puak rebel ni pada asalnya nak biarkan je mayat tu, tapi sebab tungu punya tunggu pasukan penyelamat ni lambat sangat nak sampai, takkan nak tunggu sampai mayat tu berulat bau busuk, lagi lah bawak penyakit. tu yang diorang kutip dan tolong simpan dalam peti sejuk.
tapi apa2 pun dah sah2 puak2 rebel ni yang tembak, itu kawasan diorang, dekat pulak dengan rusia. memang wajar diperangi, ayuh Europe, US, Australia, Asean, Asia kasi ganyang itu Rusia.
