Am I the only one that got a terrible sinking feeling after reading this? I have a horrid feeling that we're going to open the season with Arthur having already been told by Merlin about his magic and us the audience only learning about that in retrospect.
I think they intend to have Arthur dead by the end of the shows run - the thing about wrapping it up properly. I think they believe thats hard dramatic choices - killing off one of the 2 most popular characters and leaving the other bereft is fine - infidelity is just too shocking though.
It interests me too how, though the writers are aware that the A/M dynamic is what powers the show, they're still boasting how they're going to kungfu with it by shoving Gwen in the middle - which goes to show a loud, aggressive group of fans can win the day. Plus of course the whole passive ' aren't they sweet' thing the audience feels about them. I think they must be insane personally - because the Bradley Colin chemistry is pretty much gold dust. Shove Angel in - with the way Bradley reacts to her - oh dear. It made me laugh the utter crap Capps spouted - yeah 3 is better than 2. What????
I really wish they'd finished it at the end of S4 I think while we still have the whole feel good M/A thing going on. It made me a little disgusted and sick too the way they were going on about appealing to an adult audience and the later timeframe. And yet when anyone questions the pathetic take on the triangle for examplre or their childlike characterisation we get ' oh well its a family/kids show'. They seem to be happily having their cake and eating it - and in their arrogance they want the same kind of respect shows that take risks get. Not shows that cater to overly hormonal baby women. They seem to think they're untouchable though. I wonder if they're just about to kill off the golden goose by adding G to the A/M mix.
I can't think of anything to look forward to. |
