Students ‘stranded’ in Langkawi happy to be going home

LANGKAWI: “It’s like a raya gift.”
That’s the sentiment of most of the 17 students of the Langkawi Tourism Academy@kolej Komuniti Langkawi here following the government’s decision to allow them to go home.
The students have been in Langkawi and not allowed to go back to their hometown since the movement control order (MCO) was enforced on March 18.
Nurul Ezetty Syahira Mohamad Atan, 20, who is taking a Certificate in Culinary Arts, said it was the news she was waiting for and that her parents in Sandakan, Sabah, were also very happy about it.
“I had planned to return home in early April for the semester break, but due to the MCO, my plans were cancelled, ” said the eldest of two siblings.
She said she had been calling her parents and other family members almost every day since the MCO started.
Also excited and happy to go home is Nur Ummi Aishah Ismail, 20, who will be returning to Bagan Ajam in Penang.
“Prior to the enforcement of the MCO, I was doing my industrial training at a hotel in Jalan Pantai Tengah.

“When the MCO was enforced, I decided to remain in Langkawi to complete my industrial training report.
“Now it’s done and I’m happy that the government has allowed us (students) to return to our hometowns to be with our families.
“Our trip home has been arranged with the help of a lecturer here.
“I will return home on Wednesday by ferry from the Kuah passenger ferry terminal to Kuala Perlis and then from the KTM station in Arau to Butterworth, ” she added.
Nur Ummi Aishah is taking a Certificate in Room Division.
A lecturer in Food and Beverage Services, Mohamad Jeffri Ahmad, said all 17 “stranded’ students would leave for home to their respective states in stages.
“The Langkawi Tourism Academy @Kolej Komuniti Langkawi is helping to organise the students’ trip home to return to states such as Sabah, Selangor, Pahang, Kelantan and Penang.
“During the MCO period, the welfare of students in campus, and off-campus, is monitored at all times.
“Lecturers and staff of Langkawi Tourism Academy@Kolej Komuniti Langkawi also raised funds of more than RM3,000 to buy daily essential items for the students, ” he added. — Bernama

ak ok je, yela yg kayangan pas 14 hari boleh dilepaskan, xkn student msia berkurung x bg balik. kesian 41 hari dlm bilik, nk wifi sokmo bosan dh. ape2 pun, harap2 kluster uni ni sihat2 belaka, xnk ada kluster uni pulak. InsyaAllah. |

aku harap budak budak ni kalau dah dirumah jangan komen:
1. line internet kat umah slow nak mamps. or takde line langsung
2. mak ayah mintak tolong memanjang nak rileks main game layan netflix pun tak leh
3. nak klua mak ayah tak bagi
4. berebut atau gaduh dengan adik beradik/ adik bising
5. susah nak dapat bahan buat assignment/ online class
6. rindu bae kalau kat kampus boleh jeling jeling masa ambik makanan free PKP kat kafe
7. .... dan pelbagai lagi komen komen gedik up status twiter fb ....
bersyukur la dikkkk... masa ni bukan untuk bermewah dan meminta minta. |

benda yg you listed tu actually dah ada pun bibit bibit masalah , ..betullah especially bab internet slow and tak stable mengikut kawasan, atas sebab itu hmmm...betullah, harap jgn ada bunyi bunyi complaintlah tentang batch sidang tahun ini...yups...

pergi sia sebab ada groceries, kedei roti, atm & pet food under one roof. parking pun best sik basah sik panas. mun sik, bertuah la nok ke sia nak oooo |
