haku baru lepas nengok citer nih!
haku ingat lagi masa mid 90s dulu masa kat U member haku dgn muka serious yang amat, (since haku dok gelak jer kat dia masa dia citer haku mender nih) told me yang dia dgr radio apantah dah lupa haku dalam pukul 12 pagi ada sorang mamat nih call DJ and told the DJ that he is a vampire. dia citer dengan penuh serious nyer apa activity malam dia keluar mencari blood.
haku masih tak percaya sampai sekarang, but upon watching this film i thought betapa almost surreal! and almost real if such creature exists in the world.
latar keaadaan citer ni agak biasa: a boy bullied at school imagines he is capable of fighting back by killing the bullies with a knife, and upon that nite a girl came to his building and becomes his neighbor. He lives his life at school being bullied while at night befriending the girl and later finds inspiration and courage (from the girl) to better his life and find courage he never thought he knew.
itu aderlah citer biasa bukan
but, this girl is yikes! a vampire who with the help of her father rampages for blood at night (murder scene dia quite disturbing although not over the top). when the father dies, she still hunts and when they fall in love, that what (typically) the dilemma (not really a problem) starts.
memang sungguh luarbiasa citer nih!
there are moment which keep on asking u to consider the what if. the director weaves citer nih siap dgn explaining to us routine harian of a vampire (bila dia tido, what happens if it bites people, what happen to the bitten if he/she doesnt die, bla bla bla. and continue this story dalam latar tempat dan masa yang typical European cold winter snow "chilling" country
latar tempat itu sendiri satu indikasi mood cerita.
watch out for the ending. it gives me that suspense yang hanya citer2 cam Apocalypse Now sahaja boleh buat.
p/s dalam rottentomatoes.com (satu site yang quite respected dalam kritikan film beacuse dia kumpulkan almost every critic campor tolak dan peratuskan) filem nih scores 97% that makes it way higher than citer2 yang sedang diramalkan oscar winner tahun nih. Higher that all of them!

alamak tak ingat ah pernah post kat thread ni ke tak. tadi my all time favorite is shawshank redemption.
its no. 1 on IMDB Top 250 movies. Its touching and Prison Break probably stole some plot ideas from here. lol.
