American Idol 2011 Winner Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina Sign With Mercury Nashville

Well that didn’t take long at all. Scotty McCreery, the winner of American Idol 2011, and runner-up Lauren Alaina have both signed with Mercury Nashville, a label under Universal Music Group, according to an ad placed in yesterday’s Billboard Country Update.

Mercury Nashville boasts the quick successes of both artists:

“I Love You This Big” already over 173,000 digital downloads. Scotty has highest debut for a brand new artist’s first single since the chart converted to BDS data in 1990. 32* DEBUT, 3.1 million audience impressions in only 4 days of airplay.

“Like My Mother Does” already over 124,000 digital downloads.”

Nearly 300,000 downloads between the two of them in the past week is pretty impressive, but it’s hard to imagine McCreery getting the largest single debut for a new artist in over twenty years. I guess when you’re standing on the shoulders of American Idol anything is possible.

American Idol 2011 Alumni Paul McDonald Engaged to Nikki Reed

Paul McDonald may have been eliminated back during Top 8 week but it looks like his stint on American Idol has worked out pretty well for him after all.

After having met Nikki Reed during an publicity event for American Idol just a few months earlier the singer has proposed. Apparently that hug and a blush that night was just the start!

Twilight movies star Nikki Reed, 23, and last season’s American Idol alum Paul McDonald, 26, walked the red carpet grinning from ear to ear. And why not? She was sporting a sparkler on THAT ring finger.

“He’s the one,” Reed told E!’s Marc Malkin, when he asked if she thought they would wed. Malkin notes a source confirmed the engagement to him. Now to see if McDonald releases a song about his lady love.

Congratulations to the couple. No word yet on when the big event will be held, but the bigger question may be: will Nikki let Paul dance at the wedding?

dah lamanya tak menjenguk benang nih....since james terkuar terus posa AI sampai laa ke final...

skang nih diaorang tengah tour lagik kan..baru petang semalam start usha balek sume tour clip diaorang...and thia megia looks sooo cute as usual!

tengah2 sebok survey tour clip diaorang nih...terperasan clip neh kat youtube...

lepas tengok nie...mengugel plak pasal ScoThia neh...rupa2nya dua orang ni siap ada fan page kat fb lagik...

aku ketinggalan kapal lama sungguh pasal dua orang kapel neh sebab aku memang tak berapa minat scotty.....lagipun sebelum neh ramai dok kate scotty ngan lauren...

tapi aku memang terperasan something pasal scotty nih..sejak dari malam elimination yang karen dengan thia kuar untuk ke pentas together...cara pandangan scotty sangat pelik ngan thia..

pastu aku pun realize kebanyakan photoshoot atau gambo sukasuki atau time atas pentas, scotty mesti berdiri dekat ngan thia...

betul ke rumors yang mengatakan dia ada crush ngan thia neh? sesungguhnya aku ketinggalan kapal setelah berbulan lamanya

benci betul laa....
