Kinontra ni Bea Alonzo ang sinabi ni John Lloyd Cruz na show lang ngyoung actress ang bagong primetime series ng ABS-CBN, ang I Love BettyLa Fea. Ayon kay Bea, show nilang lahat ang I Love Betty La Fea. JohnLloyd plays Bea's love interest, Armando.
"Sa title pa lang, I Love Betty La Fea, siya [John Lloyd] yungnagsasabi nun, e, si Armando. Kagaya ng sinabi niya, kung anuman yungsuccess na nakukuha namin or our individual projects, isini-share dinnamin 憏on. Kung anuman yung success ng A Very Special Love [JohnLloyd's movie with Sarah Geronimo], yun din ang success ko. Kasi proudako sa kanya kasi sabay kaming nag-start, e. Sabay kaming nag-start sasoap opera.
"I mean, lahat ng shows namin, pareho lang kami. Ani Bea, "Sa totoo lang, tinawagan ako ni Tita Mariole [Alberto] totell me na, 慜y, okey yung movie ni John Lloyd at ni Sarah!' Angnaramdaman ko noon is happiness. Siguro po kung nangyari 憏on nungdepressed stage ko, siguro mas lalo akong mate-threaten o mas laloakong kakabahan. BEA'S DEPRESSION. Bakit siya na-depress?
"Kasi after Maging Sino Ka Man, wala silang [ABS-CBN] nilatag naproject para sa akin. Si Sam [Milby] at Anne [Curtis], may Dyosa na. Si John Lloyd, may A Very Special Love. Na-depress talaga ako noon. Sabiko, 慉no ang gagawin ko? Hindi ako puwedeng mawalan ng trabaho.Kailangan ko ng money para sa pamilya ko.' So ayun, na-depress ako. "So, I had to ask sina Mr. M [Johnny Manahan] at si Tita Mariole paramakipag-meeting, para sabihin lang kung meron po ba kahit support lang.Wala silang masabi sa akin.
Hindi siya nahiyang sabihin yun, considering na isa siya sa top young actresses ng Kapamilya network?
"Oo, yun ang sinabi ko. Meron kasing meeting talaga. Wala silang masabisa akin. Yun pala, all along, alam na nila na gagawin ko yung Betty.Hindi lang nila sinasabi sa akin."
Ano ang ginawa niya nung time na depressed siya?
"Nag-ano ako, belly dancing class ako. Nag-Singapore ako. Hindi namansobrang depressed na nagrebelde out of depression, ha. Yung depressionna nasa utak ko, all the time iniisip ko kung ano ang gagawin ko.慣apos meron pa akong naisip noon na ano kaya kung mag-aral muna kayaako? May ganung moment," pagsisiwalat ni Bea.
Hindi naman niya naisip na lumipat ng network?
"Hindi, loyal talaga ako sa Kapamilya. Naniniwala ako sa produkto natin," sagot niya.
Kailan nawala yung depression na naramdaman niya?
"Nung sinabi na nila sa akin, nung binigyan na nila ako ng re-assurancena, 慏ahil sa loyalty mo at dahil mahal na mahal mo ang trabaho mo,we're giving you this. Eto yung reward namin.'"
Ano ang ginawa niya nang malaman niya na sa kanya na ibinigay ang I Love Betty La Fea?
"Nag-party ako!" tawa niya. "Sumayaw ako ng belly dancing! Kasisinasabi ko yun sa mga kaibigan ko. Sila yung mga ka-share ko. Silayung mga kasama ko sa mga trips ko."
Kasama ba rito ang kaibigan niya sa showbiz na si Shaina Magdayao?
"Hindi. Si Shaina kasi busy noon sa Lobo. 慘umare, ako na si Betty!'Ganun. Tuwang-tuwa kami. Nagkaroon kami ng drinking session sa bahay.For girls only, pero may mga guys din na classmates ko nung highschool," saad ni Bea.

Bea Alonzo admits dating Jake Cuenca

During the grand press conference of I Love Betty La Fea last August 28, Bea Alonzo candidly admitted that she has been seeing Jake Cuenca for several months now.
What is the real score between her and Jake?
Bea admits, "We're going out, actually, at nae-enjoy ko siya. Nag-e-enjoy ako going out."
Why is she enjoying going out with Jake?
"He's funny! Yun yung hindi nakikita ng mga tao, kasi lagi siyangseryoso. Sabi ko nga sa kanya, 'Ngumiti ka nga ng mas madalas.' He's funny, he's young, he's enthusiastic. Pareho kami ng mindset pagdating sa trabaho."
Is she exclusively dating Jake?
"Hindi pa namin napag-uusapan, ayaw ko munang maging exclusive. I'mstill enjoying this moment of my life na ang daming bago. We're goingout pero ayoko pang i-label sa ngayon kasi mahirap, e. Kapag nagkaroonna ng commitment, dun na nagiging komplikado ang mga bagay-bagay."
Do they go out as a couple or as a group?
"Most of the time, with the ASAP group kasi dun naman kami nagkakilala.After every ASAP [on Sunday], makikita n'yo kami sa restaurant,kumakain kaming lahat or nagbi-videoke kami at nakasama ko siya dun."
If Jake officially courts her, does he have a chance of becoming her boyfriend?
"Hindi ko pa alam. Ine-enjoy ko pa ito. Sana wala munang ganun kasi hindi pa ko ready buksan uli ang puso ko."
Bea used to be in a relationship with actor Mico Palanca but they broke up.
The Betty La Fea star points out that having a relationship is out of the question for now because of their showbiz commitments. ABS-CBN executives say that I Love Betty La Fea is expected to run for nine months.
"Nakikita ko dapat mag-concentrate muna kami sa trabaho, kasi ngayonniya [Jake] lang nakukuha ang attention na gusto niya, ngayon ko langnakukuha ang projects na gusto ko. Dapat mag-concentrate muna kami orelse, baka ikasira namin pareho," says Bea.
Did Bea feel that Roxanne Guinoo, Jake's former girlfriend, became jealous of her?
"Sa part na yun, hindi ko na alam pero totoong nagkikita kami. I don'tsee anything wrong with that kasi wala naman siyang girlfriend, walanaman akong boyfriend. Saka hindi naman namin nile-label ang sarilinamin as exclusively dating."
She also pointed out that at the time Jake and Roxanne had a relationship, Bea was also in a relationship.
COPING WITH DEPRESSION. Bea Alonzo admits that she felt depressed when her previous project Maging Sino Ka Man ended and ABS-CBN executives did not inform her immediately about her next project. She even had a meeting with the executives to ask if they had already lined up a project for her since she needed to earn money for her sibling who is currently in college. The young actress revealed that she got much-needed support from Jake Cuenca during those trying times.
How did Jake help her during this time?
"Believe in yourself all the time. Kasi nagkakaroon ako ng moments natinatanong ko, 慘aya ko ba 'to? Do I deserve this? Baka hindi komabigyan ng justice si Betty.' Na-touch naman ako, coming from him andhe delivered it in a very, very sincere way."
She adds, "The real Jake is someone very enthusiastic, hindi siyanagpo-focus sa negative side. Nagugulat nga ako kung bakit siya ganun.He's very, very mature for his age and I really admire that."
Aside from starring in Betty La Fea, Bea also mentioned that she will be shooting an international movie with Albert Martinez titled Rosario. She will play the title character, but she said that she was not allowed to reveal much about the film, which will be directed by Maryo J. delos Reyes for Star Cinema.

he always wanted to portray something like that.. gay for that.. i think we can see versatility right there.. JLC isn't afraid to go outside of his comfort zone.
JLC's new movie w/ Vilma Santos will start rolling by Novermber 2009 in New York. He will start another movie with Sarah Geronimo at the end of the year then comes next a movie either with Angel Locsin & Marian Rivera. He will have 3 movies set for 2009.
Bea Alonzo will also have a movie next year with Albert Martinez entitled "Rosario". Its an Epic story. |

'I LOVE BETTY LA FEA' AIRS STARTING MONDAY
On Monday, the Philippines will air for the first time its own version of the widely-popular soap opera "I Love Betty La Fea" starring Bea Alonzo and her original leading man John Lloyd Cruz.
The soap opens under much expectations considering how popular thefranchise is all over the world. The US did its own version, "UglyBetty" and it has become quite successful as well.
The people behind the production are not cowed in any way. DirectorsErick Salud and Don Cuaresma said they are sticking as faithfully aspossible to the Colombian version simply because it was what thecontract dictates.
Bea doesn抰 mind at all playing second fiddle to Regine Velasquez forher role because she says, "when they called me to say I was to beBetty, the issues concerning Ms. Regine Velasquez have long been gone.It didn抰 matter anymore. I was just happy and thankful that I have anew soap and one that is really so much challenging."
It turned out that Regine抯 camp gave feelers to them to do the soap.As it is, nothing happened because at the end of it, Regine chose tostay in GMA 7 and forgot the fact that she, technically, was the onewho approached them for the role.
John Lloyd Cruz is everybody抯 choice for the role of Armando and heconsiders this as a way of thanking Bea for all that she has done forhim in the past. "I wouldn抰 be here without Bea. We helped each otherout greatly and we will continue to do so for as long as it takes," hepromised.
Ruffa Gutierrez was perfect for her role as Daniella, the contravida,but says, "I am not worried that the fans might hate me. They areintelligent now and they know that it is just a role. When they watchthe soap, they will find out anyway that Daniella is not all that bad.They will understand her."
