Frustrated hearse driver lectures 'basikal lajak' boys next to empty coffin

KLANG: Mohd Hirwan Aiyub was looking forward to a relaxing late night drink but seeing a bunch of juvenile basikal lajak boys whizzing past him at break neck speed thrice saw his patience running thin.
It was 2.30am on a Sunday yet the boys, aged between 12 and 14, were joyfully riding their "basikal lajak" (illegally modified bicycles) and performing "Superman" stunts on Klang's Third Bridge (Jambatan Ketiga Klang).
That was when Mohd Hirwan, who runs Unit Khas Van Jenazah, which offers free hearse services for the underprivilleged in Klang, decided to educate the boys on the dangers of riding along the highway and for not being at home in the middle of the night.
Mohd Hirwan, 38, and his friends rounded up the boys and gave all 14 of them a lecture inside two hearses while they were seated next to empty coffins.
Mohd Hirwan, who is the founder of non-governmental organisation Pertubuhan Ukhuwah Kebajikan Van Jelata Selangor, said he was with his friends at a restaurant in Teluk Pulai when they saw the boys racing illegally on the highway.
He said they were on standby for emergency cases at that time when they saw the boys racing past them twice.
"When they came around for the third time, that was when we became frustrated. We decided it was high time that these boys learned the dangers of such activity. Even more worrying was that they were out loitering in the wee hours, when they should be sleeping at home.
"We hauled them into our hearses and took them on a 20-minute ride. Most of them denied racing but somehow admitted when we "threatened" to put them in the coffins.
"We advised them to indulge in beneficial activities. It is even more disheartening to learn that most of them come from broken families and living with their guardians who do not care about their whereabouts.
"These boys are not from Klang but from places as far as Gombak, Sungai Buloh, Damansara and even Teluk Panglima Garang in Kuala Langat. They came for a joyride along the Third Bridge which could potentially turn into a tragedy if things go wrong," Mohd Hirwan told the New Straits Times.
Mohd Hirwan uploaded videos of him questioning the boys as they sat in the hearses.
In the 3 minute-18 seconds video that have been viewed 123,000 times as at press time, Mohd Hirwan told the boys that they would be left in the hearses alone if they did not repent.
A boy was seen crying in one of the hearses as he frightenedly peeked at a coffin next to him.
The boy, who was in tears, pleaded not to be left in the hearse, saying that he would not do it again and promised to swear on the Quran .
Mohd Hirwan had also reprimanded one of the boys for lying to his parents about attending an "event" on an invitation from a friend.
"Why did you listen to your friend? If you get into an accident and if you die, you will be (buried) alone. You won't be buried with your friends."
To this, the boy cried and said he has repented.
The boys were let off after they were told to keep to their promise and to stop doing things that were not beneficial.
"There are many more better things to do. Stay home and sleep," said Mohd Hirwan.

Sebaiknya jangan la aku kau, aku kau kat budak2.... Guna la pkck, abang dan awak.
Dah tu budak2 ni pun pandai guna ayat quran bagai. Jangan tipu pula, ada jenazah kat dalam keranda, tak elok juga..
Tapi bagus juga guna teknik ni, biar budak2 faham kesan basikal lajak, kalau tak, tak faham. |

Ahhh banyak pulak korang punya songeh... Jgn cakap kasar la.jgn cakap aku kau laa..jgn tunjuk muka laa..budak2 lajak ni takyah nak berlembut sangat. Hati kering kan masing2 nya dok merempit tgh malam kol 2-3 pagi...eleh baru dok sebelah keranda dah nangisssss....kalau aku, aku sepak je sekor2. Ingatkan telur besar dah, berani keluar tgh malam kan..rupanya takut hantu jugak. |

Mak bapak budak2 ni tak risau ke anak masi kecik dah pndai balik subuh.... Apesal la tak bw p balai. ...
Kan ada yg ckp depa tipy mak pak depa kata ada event. Walhal nak pi melajak. Mamat tu ckp kalau kau mati maati kena kubur sorang tak denya kwn kau nak teman. So pehal iku ckp kawan kau” yg Saya fahamlah |

aku memang tak paham mcm mana ada mak bapak yg boleh bagi anak2 keluar pi kedai kol 11 mlm.....
jgn plak ada yg back up mak bapak kata anak2 keluar mak bapak tak tau.... klu dah keluar dari kol 10-11 mlm spi kol 3 pagi masih tak balik, mcm mana mak bapak boleh tak perasan??????
klu pukul 3 pagi masih kat atas jalan dok melajak ngan kengkawan, kol baper bebudak nih balik umah?
