The Help is a 2011 comedy-drama film adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's novel of the same name. The film is an ensemble piece about a young white woman, Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, and her relationship with two black maids during Civil Rights era America in the early 1960s. Skeeter is a journalist who decides to write a controversial book from the point of view of the maids (known as the Help), exposing the racism they are faced with as they work for white families.
Personally, i think this is Forrest Gump of the new millenium.
Comedy die bukan comedi slapstik bodo2 yang tak ada isi.
This movie is moving, inspiring with a touch of good comedy.
Tapi cerita ni tak lah selawak Forrest Gump, tapi die punya comedy sama taraf ngan Forrest Gump la.
Lama tak tengok cerita macam ni.
I love all the cast, Viola Davis and Octavia are just superb!
Cerita ni mula-mula macam slow sikit, macam tak berapa faham sebab cerita ni early 60s, bahasa derang pun ala2 baku lagi, kena baca subtitle betul2 baru faham.
Kesian tengok hidup maid2 zaman 60an dulu kala, penuh penderitaan, nak2 dengan rasis nye.
So far aku dah tengok 3 kali, dan still tak bosan2 lagi!
Believe me, filem ni akan tercalon untuk Best Picture Oscar next year... Filem ni ada mesej yang sangat kuat terutamanya kat US between white and black ppl
best picture (drama) , best actress , 2 for supporting actress & best original song (mary j. blige nyanyi & also co-writer) - nomination@golden globe 2011/69th
Huhu, besh ek citer nie? Ai bpdah beli buku and dah habis baca, and bagi ai, novel The Help ni sangat excellent and sangat entertaining, x sabar nak sedut , dahlah banyak pencalonan katernyer.....
