KUCHING: The section of the ceiling on the ground floor of tHe Spring Shopping Mall that crashed down due to water pipe burst on Monday, are being fixed.
Mall management, in a press statement yesterday, said the damaged part would be fully restored in a few days, assuring the public that the incident and ongoing works would not compromise the structure and public safety.
“ At 6.54pm last Monday, a water pipe from one of the water tanks broke, affecting a small local area inside the mall. The mall’s emergency response team, housekeepers and general workers immediately responded to the incident. Everything was cleaned up in two hours. We managed to contain the damage from affecting other sections,” the statement said. It further mentioned that tHe Spring was committed in ensuring that the incident would not cause further disruptions and inconvenience to tenants and shoppers.
“The mall will continue its operations as normal. The management, however, apologise for any inconvenience due to the incident. We are grateful for the kind understanding and cooperation from our tenants and shoppers.”
