PET owner Caroline Murphy has created a £1,500 bucket list for her tragic pet dog who has just months to live. Owner Caroline Murphy is pictured with her pampered pet and the extensive – and pricey – bucket list Caroline is so determined that her beloved pooch Callie be treated like a queen during her last few months, she has drawn up a pricey bucket list.
The 26-year-old is treating the dog to a life of luxury during her last few months including an extravagant hotel stay which will cost her around £300. Caroline is also booking Callie in for an indulgent pamper day at a doggy salon costing around £150 and is looking forward to a trip to London next month so Callie can see all the sights. But for Caroline, who has already spent £5,350 on healthcare for Callie and over £300 on the bucket list, money is a small price to pay for her gorgeous doggy to finally have a life.
Caroline 26, from Highley, Shropshire, was told by vets that Callie has probably only a few months to live, after discovering she is suffering from heart disease and internal bleeding. Beloved pet Callie ticks another item of the list posing with star Anthony Head
The pup's list includes taking a 'delfie' - a dog selfie - with a celebrity and even wolfing down a McDonald's Happy Meal. Caroline said: "When I found out Callie was ill I wrote down everything I would have done with her in 10 years and decided to do them all now. "I am giving the dog who's had no life a life. "She's been through so much and the bucket list is to let her start living. "I am determined to make her happy before it's too late." Caroline first opened her home to Callie, the 10-year-old French bulldog last year after she was found neglected and in pain. Pampered pet Callie demolishes an entire Mr Whippy to tick-off another item Caroline spent six months nursing Callie back to full health but in a devastating twist she has now been diagnosed with a skin condition leaving her just months to live. After learning the heartbreaking news Caroline drew up a bucket list so she could make memories with her beloved dog before it's too late. Caroline said: "I care for her more than anything now. "We may have weeks, we may have months but I am going to make sure we do all the things we would have done if I had her for ever. "She is extra special with a cherry on the top and she deserves it all." Since learning that Callie was not going to be around much longer, the french bulldog has been living life to the full. Caroline said: "Callie won her first ever rosette when she became pooch of the month on the website LittlePooch.co.uk and she was such a worthy winner. "We crossed off a trip to the seaside when I took Callie down to the beach for her to have a paddle in the sea and she absolutely loved it, dipping her paws in the water. "Then we ticked off riding in a convertible. She had never been in my mum's convertible with the roof down before so she sat in the front with me and she loved the wind in her ears. Caroline Murphy nurtured Callie back to health after suffering neglect from her previous owners "We also ticked off Callie enjoying her very own chicken nugget Happy Meal for the first time. It was such a treat for her. "She has even had a delfie - a dog selfie - with the celebrity Anthony Head and she was star struck! "Last weekend we took her to the dog trust where she donated some of her toys and also £100 before wolfing down a well deserved ice cream." Caroline first adopted Callie just one year ago after she'd been neglected by her previous owners. Caroline said: "At first Callie was in a terrible state. Her past owners had let her nails grow too long so they had grown into her skin. Her skin bled every time I touched her and her whole body was ballooned up. "She was bald and she had black spots all over her belly." But after some much needed love and affection, and many visits to the vets, Caroline watched as Callie's skin condition - demodectic mange - drastically improved and was elated to have thought she'd saved her dog. Caroline said: "Her hair started to grow back and her skin looked amazing. "She was doing so well. After six months I had finally cleared her mange. But then she started to develop skin ulcers and blackheads all over her body. "I spent £1,000 for her to see a skin specialist. He said her blackheads, which are known as comedones, were the worst he'd ever seen and were likely to be caused by an internal disease which was killing her. "He said she doesn't have much time left. I was so upset." But now, Callie is living her last days to the full, and enjoying every minute of it. Caroline said: "I'm going to do absolutely everything I can for her to make sure that I make her feel like the little queen that she is. "This bucket list is all about making her happy and putting her in situations that fire up her senses and make her come to life. And from the things she has ticked off so far, she is definitely loving her new life." Bucket List cost breakdown:
