Two-month-old baby who died on an AirAsia flight was in serious condition two-and-a half HOURS before the plane landed - as it is revealed her parents were on their way to Australia to start a new life

AirAsia says health of passengers is priority but won't comment on baby's death

The parents of a two-month-old baby who died on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Perth on Monday morning were about to start a new life for themselves in Australia.

It's been revealed by passengers on the flight that the baby girl was 'crying continuously'.

Nadia Parenzee was a passenger on flight D7236 and took to Facebook to speak about the two-and-a-half hours of 'chaos' as she 'knew something was horribly wrong'.

'I offered the parents and the staff some assistance as I could see that the new parents were stressed.'

'The parents offered the baby to me with desperation in their eyes I took her in my arms and immediately read [the Koran passage] Surah Fatiha.

'I immediately knew something was horribly wrong and shouted out to the passengers to see if there were any doctors on board,' Ms Parenzee wrote on the Facebook post.

The baby's parents are from Saudi Arabia, and were on their way to Perth for a fresh start.

Ms Parenzee praised the staff on board the Air Asia flight, 'You were amazing and I commend your professionalism.'

The plane landed at Perth International Airport at 5.30am.

An AirAsia spokesman said the plane was met by police, paramedics and airport authorities when it arrived at Perth Airport at 5.30 Monday morning.

'Looks like the doctor/paramedic and police officers have come out from the aircraft,' a witness traveler wrote on Twitter.

An baby capsule was seen being removed from the plane and police have taken away bags of evidence.

Meanwhile, federal police and forensic investigators remain at the scene to complete a final investigation into the baby's death, and to interview staff who were on board the flight.

- Agensi
