Godzilla fans can hear the monster roar in a brand new trailer, which teases glimpses of the mighty radioactive kaiju. An audio version of Godzilla’s roar was released earlier this week but now it features on the explosive new promo. The trailer fleshes out the back story of why Godzilla has been unleashed explaining that the Japanese were trying to destroy the creature in 1954 — the same year as the first monster epic — by using nuclear blasts. A panicked Bryan Cranston, who plays scientist Joe Brody, is seen trying to get the truth. He rants: ‘I deserve answers! You see there it is again, this is what caused everything in the first place, don’t you see that? And it is going to send us back to the Stone Age. You have no idea what’s coming.’ There’s plenty of footage of cities being destroyed, a ruined Statue of Liberty and planes falling out of the sky. Ken Watanabe, who stars as one of the Japanese scientists, says: ‘The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control. And not the other way around.’ Godzilla, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins, is out on May 16.
