Pharrell Williams helped produce Miley Cyrus' smash hit record Bangerz, including the tunes "4X4" and "Get It Right." So, it seems only appropriate that the 21-year-old singing sensation would lend her vocals and appear on the 40-year-old's upcoming album G I R L. The funky futuristic track is called "Come Get It Bae" and the duo can be heard crooning in harmony to the upbeat melody. "Thankful for the opportunity to share my new album with everyone. Listen to G I R L now on iTunes Radio," the Grammy winner tweeted on Wednesday. Cyrus, obviously pleased with Pharrell's work, re-tweeted his message. The singer-producer's full album drops on March 3.
Pharrell Williams and Miley Cyrus - "Come Get It Bae" Pharrell opened up to GQ about the inspiration behind his first solo album in 2006 and how he has changed as an artist. "I wrote those songs out of ego," he explained to the magazine. "Talking about the money I was making and the by-products of living that lifestyle. What was good about that? What'd you get out of it? There was no purpose. I was so under the wrong impression at that time." Pharrell admitted that he was "bragging" and that he aspired to be like Jay Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs. "Those are their paths," he added. "I got my own path. But I didn't know what my path was. I knew that I was meant to do something different. I knew that I needed to inject purpose in my music."
