It's the biggest red carpet of the year and the 2014 Oscar A-listers didn't disappoint with Best Actress winner Lupita Nyong'o leading the best dressed. Forget Jennifer Lawrence, last night belonged to Lupita with the newcomer (12 Years a Slave is her very first feature film!) not only picking up an Oscar but also wowing on the red carpet. While her rival JLaw went for Dior yet again, Lupita finished off her run of awards season style success with a stunning powder blue Prada dress and matching headband. Proving she'd really made it, the 31-year-old's headband soon spawned it's own Twitter account. With it's plunging neckline and full skirt, Lupita's dress was the focal point though, oozing old Hollywood glamour while her punk earrings added a quirky twist. Lupita told E!'s Ryan Seacrest on the fred carpet that her gown's distinctive colour had real significance: "It's a blue that reminds me of Nairobi, and so I wanted to have a little bit of home." The night's other big winner Cate Blanchett also looked amazing in her exquisite Giorgio Armani gown. The Best Actress winner chose the shimmering dress which featured some delicate embroidery while the pale gold tone showed off the actress' amazing skin. Angelina Jolie shook things up, ditching her usual black gothic numbers for a very pretty long-sleeved Elie Saab gown that was drenched in gold sequins. With it's sheer bodice and floor length skirt, Angelina looked every inch the a-lister, especially with fiance Brad Pitt providing some dapper arm candy. Talking of the men, Ellen DeGeneres couldn't help pointing out that Best Supporting Actor champ Jared Leto was the prettiest star of the night and we have to agree. The actor turned musician turned actor again turned up in a cream blazer complete with snazzy red bow tie. The long-locked actor even managed to coordinate with his Dallas Buyers Club co-star Matthew McConaughey who also looked smart in white. Via: Entertainmentwise
