慖slamofobia boleh cetus Holocaust Islam抂/b]
MUSTAFA CERIC.

islamofobia di Holland: Latest : movie 'fitna' must be banned!!
Islamofobia kian ketara di Belanda
STRASBOURG, Belanda 12 Feb.

Muslim nations condemn Dutch Koran filmBy Niclas Mika
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Muslim nations condemned on Friday a film by a Dutch lawmaker that accuses the Koran of inciting violence, as Dutch Muslim leaders urged restraint.

| Islam critic Geert Wilders launched his short video on the Internet on Thursday evening. Titled "Fitna", an Arabic term sometimes translated as "strife", it intersperses images of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States and Islamist bombings with quotations from the Koran, Islam's holy book.
The film urges Muslims to tear out "hate-filled" verses from the Koran and starts and ends with a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad with a bomb under his turban, accompanied by the sound of ticking.
The cartoon, first published in Danish newspapers, ignited violent protests around the world and a boycott of Danish products in 2006. Many Muslims regard any depiction of the Prophet as offensive.
"The film is solely intended to incite and provoke unrest and intolerance among people of different religious beliefs and to jeopardise world peace and stability," the 57-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the film as "offensively anti-Islamic" and said there was "no justification for hate speech or incitement to violence".
Iran called the film heinous, blasphemous and anti-Islamic, and Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation and a former Dutch colony, said it was an "insult to Islam, hidden under the cover of freedom of expression".
The Saudi Arabian embassy in The Hague said the film was provocative and full of errors and incorrect allegations that could lead to hate towards Muslims, news agency ANP reported.
Dutch Muslim leaders appealed for calm and called on Muslims worldwide not to target Dutch interests. The Netherlands is home to about 1 million Muslims out of a population of 16 million.
"Our call to Muslims abroad is follow our strategy and don't frustrate it with any violent incidents," Mohammed Rabbae, a Dutch Moroccan leader, told journalists in an Amsterdam mosque.
The Dutch Islamic Federation went to court on Friday to try to stop Wilders from comparing Islam to fascism, saying he incited hatred of Muslims.
"INFLAMING HATRED"
Dutch authorities reported no incidents in contrast to the unrest that swept the country after the murder by a militant Islamist in 2004 of Dutch director Theo van Gogh, who made a film accusing Islam of condoning violence against women.
In a survey conducted on Friday, pollster Maurice de Hond found that only 12 percent of those questioned thought the film represented Islam accurately, but 43 percent agreed Islam was a serious threat to the Netherlands over the long term.
Wilders has been under heavy guard because of Islamist death threats since the murder of director van Gogh. Support for his anti-immigration Freedom Party rose in anticipation of the film to about 10 percent of the vote.
The Dutch government has distanced itself from Wilders and tried to prevent the kind of backlash Denmark suffered over the Prophet cartoons.
Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende said he was "proud" of how Dutch Muslim organisations responded to the film but that it was too early to draw conclusions on the international consequences: "There are reasons for continued alertness."
Dutch exporters association Fenedex said it did not expect a negative impact on Dutch companies in Muslim countries.
There was a small protest by dozens of Islamists in Karachi on Friday, demanding that Pakistan sever diplomatic ties with Denmark and the Netherlands.
NATO has expressed concern the film could worsen security for foreign forces in Afghanistan, including 1,650 Dutch troops.
Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard objected to the use of his drawing of the Prophet Mohammad, saying it was shown out of context and that he had taken legal action to have it removed.
"I think it is a very primitive film with many generalisations of Muslims. My cartoon aims at terrorists who use interpretations of the Koran and Islam as their spiritual dynamite," Westergaard said.

Firma Belanda mahu saman ahli Parlimen
Wilders, pemimpin parti Kebebasan menyiarkan filem sepanjang 15 minit menerusi internet Khamis lalu.

Prof Azra: Muslims Need To Protest Anti-Islamic Film 'Fitna'
JAKARTA, March 31 (Bernama) -- Muslims need to protest the production of the anti-Islamic film entitled 'Fitna' (Discord in Arabic) by right-wing Dutch politician Geert Wilders because it hurts the feelings of 1.3 billion Muslims throughout the world, according to Islamic political observer Prof Dr Azyumardi Azra.
"We should protest but it should be done politely and peacefully in accordance with the high moral values of Islam," Indonesia's ANTARA news agency quoted Prof Azra, former rector of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, as saying here on Monday.
He reminded Muslims, however, that they should not be provoked by the airing of the film and must refrain from taking counter-productive actions which could harm the interests of Islam, Muslims and Indonesia which had the largest Muslim population in the world.
Prof. Azra acknowledged the positive stance taken by the Dutch Government which opposed the film for associating Islam with violence.
Interfaith Dialogs were the most civilized way to build mutual respect, and not through hatred and attacking each other, Prof. Azra said.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian government has condemned the production of the film 'Fitna' saying it is full of racist insinuations and an irresponsible act committed in the name of press freedom.
"The Government of Indonesia strongly condemns the provocative act which insults Islam and Muslims," Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo said on Saturday.
The film clearly contradicted the efforts Indonesia was making at national and international levels to promote interfaith dialogs based on harmony and tolerance, he said.

Lagi tunjuk perasaan Fitna
- AFP |

Denmark galak Islamofobia
揂dalah satu fakta bahawa perbuatan ganas dilakukan atas nama Islam dan tidaklah salah menghasilkan satira atas perkara ini, |

Danish cartoon ruling may prompt "Islamophobia"- OIC
RIYADH (Reuters) - The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), a league of 57 Muslim nations, said on Monday a Danish court's rejection of a suit against a paper for printing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad could provoke "Islamophobia."
The High Court for western Denmark on Thursday rejected a suit against Jyllands-Posten, the newspaper that first published cartoons of Islam's prophet, leading to deadly protests in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The court said the editors had not meant to depict Muslims as criminals or terrorists, the cartoons had not broken the law, and there was a relationship between acts of violence and Islam -- comments that provoked outcry among Muslim groups in Denmark.
"It is a known fact that acts of terror have been carried out in the name of Islam and it is not illegal to make satire out of this relationship," the court said.
The Saudi-based OIC, the largest grouping of Muslim countries, said the ruling could encourage "Islamophobia", a fear or dislike of Islam, which the group has identified as existing in the West.
"The Danish ruling came as a surprise to the OIC at a time when almost all Western governments including the USA had made categorical statements rejecting any linkage between Islam and terrorism," an OIC statement said.
"The linkage drawn by the Danish court ... could create a precedent for exacerbation of Islamophobia."
Many Muslims regard depictions of the Prophet as blasphemous. The Islamic Faith Society, one of the groups that brought the lawsuit against the Danish newspaper, said it might take its case to the European Court of Human Rights. |
