Siti Nurhaliza Honoured With Arts Leadership Award

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- Former prime ministerTun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was Sunday night bestowed the NationalLeadership Award by Yayasan Bakti Khidmat Masyarakat Malaysia (YBKMM)or the Community Service Foundation of Malaysia for leading Malaysia tobecome an outstanding country.

Abdullah was, however, not present at the function for the foundation's awards presentation.

The YBKMM is a welfare and trust body set up nine years ago to help achieve Vision 2020 by helping the less fortunate.

Popular singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin was given the artsleadership award, Prof Datuk Hamdan Adnan the consumerism leadershipaward, Datuk Azlina Che Abdullah the entrepreneurial leadership award,Yahya Susah the community leadership award, Datuk Paduka Yassin Noh theeducation leadership award, and Kapt Datuk Kumaravel the voluntaryleadership award.

This annual affair of YBKMM was held in conjunction with theMerdeka celebration to honour those who have contributed to society andthe country.
