Travel Notes.  Mozambique, Day 1

Quite by chance ended up in Mozambique.  In Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, arrived early in the morning.  A total of 16 hours had to get ... First, to Cairo, thence to Yohanosburg and only then to Maputo.  The first test awaits the traveler at the airport.  They give a visa at the border.  It takes 5-10 minutes per person.  So if you are unlucky enough to place on the plane, be prepared to spend several hours at the border.  I got one of the first and stood in line just 40 minutes.  Slow border guard photographs of newly arrived tourists, and then removes fingerprints, then prints out a visa and glued in the passport.  Pleasure to trample Mozambican land costs 60 euros.

Mozambique, in guidebooks for some reason called the "land of smiles."  I smile then met only once.  Some Gopnik noticed an expensive camera, broke into a smile, looking forward to a walk as easy prey.  "Modern Maputo called the most beautiful capital in Africa."  This is not, I said that once people travel sites tout.  We read further: "The beauty of this city should see at least once to get drowned in the shade of jacaranda and yarkotsvetuschih sikimor streets, admire the parapet seaside boulevards on the warm ocean without a wave, a huge moon, illuminating everything around for miles, endless sandy beach, on the luminous at the bottom of sea stars, which you can see right from the veranda of the house. "  Judging from the stories - a paradise on earth.  Well, ready to go and enjoy the Jacaranda sikimorami?  Then let's go!

  01.  Let's start with history.  Previously, Mozambique was a Portuguese colony and was called Lourenco Marques,.  In the 60s of last century it was very popular with tourists, all was well.  Then the center began a war for independence, which lasted 10 years and ended only in 1974.

  02.  The People's Republic of Mozambique was proclaimed on June 25, 1975, in accordance with the Lusaka Agreement.  The city was renamed Maputo.  Outstanding Portuguese monuments were torn down, dark-skinned soldiers, armed with Soviet guns, took the place of the Portuguese troops, most of the streets named in honor of the Portuguese or Portuguese history of significant dates have also received new names.  Most of the ethnic Portuguese left the country without leaving Mozambique competent management staff.  After the exodus of trained Portuguese personnel from the country no one has developed infrastructure to support.  By the early '80s, Mozambique has become bankrupt.  The country was gripped began soon after independence, civil war, which lasted from 1976 to 1992.  Overcrowding, unemployment, poverty and crime - is now Maputo.

  03.  The city is very dirty.  The impression is that the garbage here is not removed completely.  Overflowing garbage cans adorn the roadsides, and the wind chasing packages and papers on the pavement.  We should also mention people, manage their need on the streets.

  04.  Do not understand why people do travel to Mozambique.  Dull, dirty country.  Even tell you nothing about it ...

  05.  Chetyrehzvedochnaya hotel in the center was a rare gadyushnikom.  Gender decorated black hair, dirty towels.  Instead, costs 150 euros.  An amusing incident occurred at the reception.  I got the keys and asked to deliver in all of its number five suitcases full of equipment and costumes.  I do not care said: "Yeah ..." Incidentally, this is a very popular word here.  Indifferent, "Yeah," said everywhere, even where you pay good money.  I mean I was sitting in his presidential suite and looked at the pattern of black hair on the floor.  I'm trying to count how many people have been here since the last cleaning.  It took 20 minutes, I counted at least 10 different guests and luggage had not arrived.  Come down (the phone did not work).  My suitcases are in the lonely corner of the luggage trolley.
  - My friend and what not accept suitcases, sir?  - Politely, I asked the porter
  - So bring-a!  The sun was still high.  Come, relax, sir, - said the porter care.
  - But I can not rest without its Chinese silk pajamas!  Come on, quickly drag suitcases upstairs!
  - Yeah ... - said the porter, and went to smoke.
As a result, had to carry the luggage itself.  The entire staff of the rooming house looked at me and did not understand what it is I am disgusted.  "Look, 20 minutes ago and already settled outraged that no luggage!"  - Whispering maids.

  06.  On the street selling shoes ...

  07.  And not only that.

  21.  On the waterfront all come to compete wheelbarrows.  Special chic is rolled up in his tub, they block the entire sidewalk, open the doors and turn on the maximum volume of the music.  Some disgusting dubstep, who loves Bulk.  In this case the owner is sitting on the fence, sipping beer and watching people passing by as shit.

  29.  Iron House.  He developed the famous Gustave Eiffel, thereby engineer who designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Statue of Liberty in New York.

From the name you might guess that the roof, walls, ceilings, stairs and balconies are completely made of steel.  Construction of the Iron House was completed in 1892 on the orders of the colonial governor of Belgium.  He was supposed to be the residence of the Governor General of Mozambique, but because of the hot and humid subtropical climate to live in it was impossible.  Iron House was used as a courthouse, and then as a college, and later - as a business office.

  30.  In the center is a park Tunduru, designed in 1885 by the British landscape designer Thomas Haney (Thomas Honney).

Kehidupan mereka macam hidup dalam tahun 70an je.  Persekitaranya juga tidak bersih dan nampak merbahaya kalau jalan sendirian.
