Misteri Cendawan Hijau Bercahaya di Waktu Malam

With the arrival of Brazil’s rainy season, a green glow-in-the-dark mushroom begins to sprout in all over the jungle. The mysterious mushroom, or scientifically called, The Mycena lux-coeli mushrooms, sprout from fallen chinquapin trees and as they grow, a chemical reaction involving a light-emitting pigment occurs, causing them to glow a ghostly green.

The caps can grow to as large as 2 cm (about 1 inch) in diameter, but because the mushrooms are prone to dehydration, they only have a few days to live once the rain stops. The tiny mushroom is one of seven new species of glow-in-the-dark fungi found around the world, bringing the total known to 71. Just goes to show you that the curiosities of the world never cease! Time to explore the world!

aku redah hutan mlm2 baru neh...semata2 nak layan member2 yang nak pi belek mende neh...kecik gile kot...kalu ko tak teliti..ko tak kan perasan..sebab dia akan tertutup ngan daun2...

yg saya jumpa glow in the dark masa camping kat hutan bukannya cendawan tapi daun kayu.
bukan semua daun kayu.. mungkin dari spesis tertentu..

dlm gelap,  mula2 saya hairan tengok beberapa benda yg hijau & fluorescent kat tanah. bila ambik dan suluh dgn lampu, rupanya daun kayu yg telah kering.
