Aug 6 — DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng yesterday said that he had met and listened to the grouses of the non-Malay community who, according to him, has been alarmed by Chinese publication Sin Chew Daily’s news report that the Year Four Bahasa Malaysia textbook in Chinese and Tamil schools would include seni khat.
Lim together with other DAP leaders had last night met grassroots leaders to discuss the issue which has seen a variety of reactions, including pushback from the non-Malay community. If the reason for introducing Khat as an Art form, it should be done at PRIMARY SCHOOL, not in Form Four where students are burdened with more serious and important subjects. The students' timetable are packed and they required to master not one or two subject but at least seven subjects - including Maths, Science and Geography - many which are more useful than this load of Arabic nonsense. The Government should have some common sense in this matter.
Furthermore, what is the use of Khat? Is there a monetary value for this? Is there a real-World application for Khat (other than in production of batu nesans or tombstones commonly used by Malays)? I'm sure if the government was interested in producing more tombstone makers, they could find plenty of volunteers among Malays.
Lastly, why has this move not been presented in Parliment for discussion? I do not remember this issue being discussed in Parliment. Only thing they were busy discussing is the backside of Azmin which seems to had taken priority over everything for the past few months. So where was the approval from the Parliment for this move? Was there a discussion? Or did Dictator, Nyanyuk Mahathir decided he wanted to show the People that he alone had balls and the rest of the Country must follow suit like cows and sheeps?
This issue (with the Khat, not the useless relic that is Mahathir) had been received negatively by so many people (myself included) simply because Khat is USELESS and should not be burden to non-Malay students. It is enough for non-Malays to learn regular Malay language which has some real-time use in this World as medium of communication. I had thought of it carefully and I cannot find a single use for Khat other than as for tombstone making. Maybe Mahathir is asking for a tombstone for himself very soon?

August 8, 2019 @ 6:33pm
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has expressed surprise at the outbursts over news of the introduction of khat in the Year Four syllabus next year.
He said the matter had actually been decided in 2012 and the topic was included in a school textbook.
“Khat will be taught as an arts subject. Calligraphy. This was decided by the then government in 2012. I do not know why it is an issue now.
It is an issue NOW because :-
1). This is 2019, NOT 2012. Seven years had passed and if you (Mahathir) going to implement something as stupid as Khat, you should at least have the decency to allow the discussion in Parliment instead of behaving like a dictator who has the only balls in Malaysia.
2). This supposed to be Pakatan Harapan Government - NOT BARISAN NASIONAL government. Why should PH implement something the pervious government (stupidly) decided - even so it had receive similar outburst from non-Malays as well - today in 2019 when the government had changed and the new Government supposed to represent to more educated, matured and civilized People of Malaysia?
The very statement from Mahathir stating that this issue had already "decided" by Barisan government (in 2012) and therefore should be implemented blindly (by the current government) shows that Mahathir still thinks (and treats) Pakatan Harapan is nothing more than an extension of Barisan Nasional.
The very concept of "Malaysia Baru" (New Malaysia) or the hard effects the People had put in the last two general elections to change the way Malaysia was heading doesn't seems to has any importance or NO meaning to this senile old man who still insists of treating others with discontent.
And the annoying part here is that he (Mahathir) had even repeated the same mistake he had done with Badawi. He went and appointed Azmin as his "successor" (just as he did with Badawi), overriding the agreement Pakatan Harapan had with him to be in power for 2 years and then reciding the power to Anwar Ibrahim.
“They just want to test DAP. If DAP agrees with the implementation, they will say DAP is being controlled. If otherwise, they will say DAP is controlling the government.”
This has nothing to do with DAP, or MIC or anyone else. It has everything to do with the People getting pissed with YOUR (Mahathir's) attitude problem. You supposed to fix the economic problem which YOUR PARTY (Barisan Nasional) had created through the two jokers YOU had put in place - Badawi (who is weak-minded and weak-kneed politician) and Najis Ibrahim who is the biggest hypocrite and "Bapa Penyamun" since President Marcos from the Philiphines. He even has his wife who matches every criteria of Imelda Marcos in every way (including the physical resemblance).
You - Mahathir - supposed to be a glorified "road sweeper" - fixing your Party's mistakes. Not pretend to be the leader of a nation which you - arrogantly think - cannot survive without your presence here.
In my opinion, the best thing Malaysians should do right now is to tell this senile old man to resign after the two years (as originally agreed to) and get the power back to Anwar ASAP. Before Mahathir brings Malaysia toward the direction which will destroy the country which Pakatan Harapan supposed to save it from. |

Agree wholeheartedly.
In modern times, it is best to recommend the children today to master as many languages as possible.
English is a must because 90% of the knowledge on the Internet is in English so children should able to learn more on their own (thus changing the Internet from porn-filled waste-space to an actual library-like space). Other languages like Japanese, French, Mandarin, Hindi and Spanish could likely to be helpful for them in the long run, especially in business sectors and work-related fields.
Learning foreign languages are NOT hard as some could think. If a Hindu or Chinese could master three language (his mother tongue, BM and English), I fail to see why anyone cannot learn a few more languages, especially with the Internet and things like Youtube around. Knowledge is at their fingertips, they need to make the effect to learn.
In that context, I really don't see a single reason why Khat should be push down the throat of the youngsters in name of Arts.

Malaysian Hindus more loyal to Modi? Ask them, says Dr M
I'm not claiming to be representative of any Hindu (people, groups, party etc) but in my personal opinion, I do not think the Hindu society in Malaysia has ANY OBLIGATIONS or REASONS to be loyal to Mahathir.
What exactly did Mahathir did for Hindus in Malaysia? Everything he did was for Malays - from the first time he took power in 1970s and implemented the biggest bribery system the World had every seen - Dasar Ekonomi Baru (New Economy Policy) which supposed to give 30% to the Malays but end up used to control the Malay race altogether and tie them up to the Barisan Nasional to this day.
Even today, what did he do for Hindus? I cannot think of anything worth mentioning.
So, why should Hindus be "loyal" to Mahathir? Is it stated in the Constitution somewhere that we (non-Malays) should blindly kiss the rear-end of any political leader that the government put forward? We didn't even bother with Badawi and Najib for the past 10 years plus, and managed to topple both of them in the last two general elections, so why does anyone think we should behave any differently toward this "self-imagined dictator"?
And besides, the Rukun Negara (which I solemly follow) says - "Kesetiaan kepada RAJA dan NEGARA", NOT kesetian menbabi-buta kepada Mahathir dan Party politik.
Lastly, I wish to remind him (Mahathir) of a qoute said by an "old friend" back in 1996 - "Siapa Mahathir?" by M. Nasir. |
