use agrobacterium to transfer desired genes..of course good genes
then select for transgenic ones..which is being transferred by agrobacterium
it doesnt mean xde lansung dominant n resessive genes
just tht by using this method, certain genes could be inhibited
u want me explain the protocol or what? |

logiknya this is all stemmed from mitotic division lah since any tissue from any part, kan? so does it involves "only" the somatic cells? I am just thinking. |

actually you can take not only the somatic cells, but any cells which has a totipotency...such as nodes, internodes, young leaf. You can even use an embyogenic cells (such as zygotic embyo). From any part that youi used you can make it embyogenic and thus induce somatic embryogenesis using manipulation of 2,4-D, malt extract and other PGr.
For beginners, micropropagation is easy, you can try this book for beginners part
