Security footage has captured the moment a driver careened into a petrol station convenience store in the US while allegedly trying to run down his girlfriend.
CCTV from December 9 shows a woman dashing into the Columbia Market in Columbia, Tennessee, just seconds before the truck swerves into the shop.
Driver Eric Whitaker, 40, missed his 37-year-old girlfriend, who has not been identified, but crashed into shop owner Surendra Patel, local news website Katu.com reports.
Video shows Mr Patel standing inside the entrance and watching in horror before the vehicle smashes into him.
Amazingly, he is seen freeing himself from the debris moments later and walking away.
Whitaker ran from the shop and allegedly stole a sports car belonging to nurse Andrea Kreisel, who had witnessed the accident and stopped to help, Columbia police said.
The rampage ended when Whitaker crashed the sports car into a bread truck, police claimed.
Whitaker was flown taken to Venderbilt hospital in a critical condition.
Police said he would be arrested when he was released, and would likely face attempted murder charges.
