When I was cheated into buying a foot massager. I learnt to say no the next time to the unscrupulous salesmen.
I paid RM1,700 to learn to be wiser. What a dumb man I was!!!

Did your mum recover bulan?

I can understand, looking after the sick and to those who really care can be quite an experience........while hanging on to hope one also need to acknowledge "fate" and the inevitable. I never had the opportunity to do the same with my mum as her going was swift. However, I know someone who spent 10 years or so looking after her bedridden mom while her other siblings took her for granted.....so she thought. I told her how lucky she was to have had that opportunity and be thankful and happy for it. Since then she had felt better with all that she had to endure.

Yeah.............a very common thing...we only realise the value of a thing when we are about to loose it. How tragic! We ought to acknowledge things when and as due, don't you think. I do wonder why this is difficult at times....or ...all the time!

Today's defining moment...

Someone said 'I'm sorry, I was wrong' to me.

I know it is not easy to say Sorry, especially for someone at the top.

You would understand of course how much expectation you sometimes put on your children. When my kid first sat for her exam, I was the one having anxiety ....you know.... serba serbi tak kena..........! The examinee was relaxed through it all. After an analysis I realise what was going on and since then I never allowed myself to be in that state anymore. Just let the kids live  their own lives and mark out their own destiny.

not really life defining moments ...
lebih pada life-changing?

1.  My English teacher masa Form 1
i failed most of my subjects masa sekolah rendah,
subjek paling teruk was english, average 20-30 marks
masa form 1 masuk sekolah baru, dpt this english teacher
US grad, local sarawakian, a bidayuh convert to be exact .. with a tattoo on his arm,
sensing the lack of interest in english pd almost every student in the class,
he changed the english class into a choir class
so everyday except for 15 mins, we were singing english songs
dari situ, dia ajar slow2 ..apa maksud those lyrics ...kenapa use past, present, future tense etc,
secara tak langsung vocab and grammar pun improved sikit sikit
and most importantly, our views that english was boring itu berubah ..
after songs, he introduced us to books ..
walaupun my english sekarang ni pun masih broken sana sini,
at least i felt i've inherited something from him ...
"a love for books"

2.  Books by Arenawati, baca masa Form 4
something clicked in me after reading those books,
timbul "semangat nasionalis" sikit ..
