Wan Wah expects Malaysians to do well in All-England
KUALA LUMPUR: Professional doubles pair Lee Wan Wah-Choong Tan Fook will not make the trip to Birmingham for the All-England, which will be held from March 3-8.
But they are hoping that Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and Mohd Fairuizizuan Mohd Tazari will be able to regain the title after a lapse of two years. Kien Keat-Boon Heong won the coveted title in 2007.
Wan Wah feels that the two pairs stand a good chance given the uncertainty over the condition of the other top doubles shuttlers.
Indonesia抯 Olympic and world champions Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan are one of the favourites but Markis is nursing a knee injury.
All-England defending champions Lee Yong-dae-Jung Jae-sung are attending a one-month military camp in Seoul and may skip the All-England. Even if they do turn up, they may not be well prepared.

BAM get set for busy year ahead as host
KUALA LUMPUR: The Bad璵in璽on Association of Malaysia (BAM) are getting ready for another busy time of hosting major international events this year.
BAM have been handed the task of hosting the World Junior Championships for the first time from Oct 23-Nov 1 at either Johor Baru or Alor Star.
The national body are also contemplating hosting a Grand Prix gold tournament.
The Badminton World Fe璬eration (BWF) are allowing their members to host an additional international tournament this year.
The Grand Prix gold is rated one step lower than Super Series.
Last month, Malaysia hosted the opening leg of the Super Series at Stadium Putra, where world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei emerged as the men抯 singles champion for the fifth time.
