Cricket for wicket
yeah guys we r a bunch of cricket frenzy n fizzy, who love the game so much. I read all ur comments above n it seems interesting. You can call me for any matters related to Cricket, please feel free to ask me any question, let it be about the law of the games, competition, equipment, practice etc. We have a mission to develop the social game of cricket, as we view the game is only being played by a few "elitist". I know there are heaps of ex-sbp out there who used to play this game. We can help you to form a team and arrange a game. If rugby has its own COBRA - Combined Old Boys Rugby Association, why dont we form Combined Old Boys Cricket Association, we could start arrange sixers or inter old boys competition.
Cricket rocks the world.

World Cup update
Sri vs NZ
It was a heavyweight bout, goliath agaisnt goliath. New Zealand won the toss and opted for batting. That could be the worst decision by Stephen Fleming, who passed Mohd Azharudin record as the most for a captain in the World Cup. It was not a dream start for the Black Caps as their wickets tumbled like bowling pins. Stephen Fleming went out to a similar fashion he was for the previous games against Sri Lanka. Vaas was the culprit, the ball pitched on a straight line and hit Fleming's front pad, straight as an arrow. Scotty Styris steadied the batting with 111 , his second ODI century. Boundaries were hard to come by for the Black Caps, at one stage 200 was beyond their imagination, not until the last 3 overs, when James Franklin and Scotty Styris started to swing their bats for boundaries. New Zealand 219-7.
Second innings, Sri Lankan Batsmen Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara did well with both bastmen scored half century. Sri Lanka passed the 219 target with 29 balls remaining. Another clinical win for Sri Lanka and New Zealand winning streaks had been tarnished. Sri Lanka won by 6 wickets (222-4).
Today's match Mighty Aussie vs Irish - my verdict 90/10 to Aussie.
Bro Gemukk - Alhamdulillah, maybe you can get ur team to play against us.
Bro Ecam - are u ex-SAS caused we played SAS in the semifinal PPM 97 Teluk Intan
Bro Supadepo - I'm pissed off with that guy, it was not our fault.

Irish vs Aussie
Ricky Ponting won the toss and put Irish to bat. McGrath did the first damage by taking the first wicket. It almost predicatable that the Irish will be suffered in the middle, it was a "carnage" without the bloodshed. McGrath and Tait shared 3 wickets each, whereby Symonds, Clark and Hogg had one a piece. JF Mooney the only Irish who shone with the bat. Irish all out for 91.
It didnt take long before Aussie passed the mark at 12.2 over with 1 wicket down. Gilchrist out again before reach 50. It was Hussey who steadied Aussie to win the match. Aussie won the match with 9 wickets
Today's match South Africa vs Black Caps - Springbok shall jump over the Kiwi? Kiwi can't fly neither Springbok, but Kiwi is nocturnal they are prehistoric animal who still live in the modern world. My verdict 60/40 to New Zealand. Go KIWI! |

Cricket: Australia beats Sri Lanka in World Cup match
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) - Australia cruised to a seven-wicket victory over title contender Sri Lanka and stretched its winning World Cup streak to 20 matches on Monday in a game that looked little more than a practice game.
With both teams already guaranteed semifinal spots, Sri Lanka deliberately weakened its bowling attack in Grenada to maintain some element of surprise for later in the tournament.
That only made it even easier for the two-time defending champions.
After bowling Sri Lanka for 226, Australia built on a solid opening stand of 76 by openers Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist to reach the target with more than seven overs to spare.
Facing a bowling attack with very little venom, captain Ricky Ponting eased to his 61st one-day half century and smashed a six to finish the match on 66.
Symonds hit 63 and then expressed surprise that Sri Lanka, already without injured paceman Lasith Malinga, had decided to rest two more of its top bowlers, left armer Chaminda Vaas and spin star Muttiah Muralitharan.
"Key players don't play in important games and sometimes sides can lose momentum and lose confidence,'' the allrounder said.
"It's not the way we would have done it, but they're a different team to us.''
While Sri Lanka opted to preserve that element of surprise, the Australians left them in no doubt about their own strengths as pacemen Glenn McGrath and Nathan Bracken removed the top three batsmen in the space of 14 balls.
Sri Lanka slumped from 26-0 to 27-3 with star opener Sanath Jayasuriya among those back in the pavilion before Mahela Jayawardene and Chamara Silva rallied the team with a fourth-wicket stand of 140.
Just as Sri Lanka looked like giving the Australians their first real test of the 2007 World Cup, the pair got out within four runs of each other with left arm spinner Brad Hogg capturing both wickets.
Silva lobbed a catch to Michael Clarke and was out for 64 and Jayawardene was stumped by Adam Gilchrist for 72.
The dismissals were the start of another Sri Lankan collapse from 167-3 to 184-8.
Bracken ended with standout figures of 4-19 off 9.4 overs, while Shaun Tait, McGrath and Hogg took two wickets each.
A score of 226 was never enough to worry the Australians and Hayden and Gilchrist moved smoothly to 76 in just under 12 overs before they were dismissed by one of Sri Lankan's backup bowlers, spinner Russel Arnold.
Hayden was caught for 41 and Gilchrist leg before after scoring 30.
Apart from two run out scares, Ponting and Symonds moved effortlessly towards the victory target and the Australia captain believes his team is building ideally towards an unprecedented third World Cup title.
"All is coming together well,'' he said.
"Right at this moment in the tournament for us it's all about momentum. We've played some good cricket and we've got some good momentum behind us so far and we're looking to carry that into the finals.''
Next up, is a game against another guaranteed semifinalist New Zealand in Grenada on Friday.
Tuesday's game between South Africa and England in Barbados is the only one of remaining five Super 8s to realistically affect who joins Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the semifinals.
It has plenty of needle too, with South African-born Kevin Pietersen considered something of a traitor for becoming a star batsman for his adopted England.
Rival captains Michael Vaughan and Graeme Smith have also sniped at each other.
"There will be a lot of heat and pressure on both sides,'' Smith said on Monday.
"I'm pretty sure it will be a very explosive game.''
Apart from South Africa's unpredictable form including a surprise 67-run loss to Bangladesh, Smith has another problem.
South African cricket's top official, Gerald Majola, is flying out to the Caribbean from Johannesburg demanding an explanation that some of Smith's teammates were reported by their own fans to be out on a drinking binge after Saturday's five-wicket loss to New Zealand in Grenada.
The South African captain defended his players on Monday.
"I have no issues with some guys going out for a drink and blowing off steam, it's a long tournament,'' he said.
"We do have drinking rules. If the guys don't go over them and push the limits, that's fine with me.'' |
