Jack is still Jack.
Kate is playing Claire, gave up her 'unborn' child.
Sayid is playing Kate, being a criminal.
Hurley is playing Charlie, with a guitar.
Sun is playing Rose, sitting by herself while her husband is away. (This makes one of the insignificant episode from Season 2 more significant, the one where Sun lost her ring.)
Ben could be playing John, since one of his limb is injured.
John is playing Christian by sacrificing himself to be a corpse.

Sun mostly a proxy for Jin (assassin by circumstance, looking for redemption and boarding plane to reconnect with spouse)
Ben is mostly a proxy for Sawyer (wise cracking, con man, bad boy liar with daddy issues.)
Sayid mostly a proxy for Kate (good person turned bad, on the run, caught by the law)
Locke is a proxy for Christian (dead guy in a coffin, important figure in Jack's life...who Jack also hate and has issues with)
Nondescript middle eastern mostly a proxy for Sayid (took Sayids place in line and wished Jack condolences the same way Sayid did, probably has more similarities too)
Hurly mostly a proxy for Charlie (the guitar was actually an important item on the island, hurly probably as depressed/suicidal as Charlie was at the time)
Kate mostly a proxy for Claire (omg the baby!)
Lapidus mostly a proxy for Cindy? (flight crew person who seems to have been on the island before? Cindy yhe flight attendant, who is now we see an Other, must have been on the Island before 815 crash?)
And Jack is mostly a proxy for...well...Jack! (and maybe some Locke..looking for a purpose, ready to believe in something)
But its also clear that they also are proxies in multiple ways, doesnt have to be 1:1 ratio. Kate seems to also be representing Charlie, with that hungover/sunglasses wearing reveal...Ben representing Charlie by being in the bathroom when the plane crashed, Hurly representing Charlie with the guitar...etc... |

I had the same thought watching that scene where Jack asked Ben, what will happen to the others in the plane. Ben pi jawab "Who cares?" lepas tu Jack tanya "How could you read?" pastu Ben jawab "cuz my mother taught me". Masa tu aku terpikir, eh mcm Sawyer! |
