"I can't find my wallet!" explains Jericho Rosales why he was late during his launch as Mint endorser. As it was a solo press conference, Jericho kept media members waiting for close to an hour while he looked for can’t-get-out-of-the-house-without item. When he arrived, he seemed not to be in a mood to talk as he loaded us with I-don’t-know answers. For the scoop-hungry entertainment journalists, that’s the big letdown. But he was happy to inform us to be glad to have his own Jericho Rosales collection with Mint. He offers, “I've approved the designs but later, I will do designs of my own."
This is how our interview flowed:

The buzz is you’re courting her again?
Well, I promised myself na hindi ako magpo-fall-in-love sa mga leading ladies ko. Siyempre, kapag leading lady mo, lahat ng mga bagay na nakikita ko sa kanya, maganda, ‘di ba? The point is, lahat ng naging girlfriends ko, leading lady ko. So, this time, for a change, let’s not fall in-love with my leading ladies para hindi mahirap, ‘di ba?
Ayaw na daw niyang makipag-partner sa‘yo?
That’s a sad thing to say, na parang hindi kami puwedeng magsama ulit. Siguro as partners, for now, we can’t. But there’s just something about her na talagang hindi ko...

How true you were second choice to John Lloyd Cruz in the Clear TVC?
I can't comment as I don't know. I was surprised when they got me as Sunsilk endorser. First time this happened and it's because they're both Unilever products.

I don't know about that, but I'm happy to work with Sid who's good.
How true you turned down the offer to do “Ang Panday” with Bong Revilla, Jr.?
I got an offer from Sen. Bong's office to do the role of Lizardo. But they were shooting in Ilocos where we shot our Panday and kids there call me Panday, so now magiging Lizardo ako? So I begged off.
How do you feel you were not able to accept to do "Mano Po 6"?
Focused kami sa taping ng “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.” I also got an offer to do an indie film na ang ganda ng story, but I also had to say no. Sayang, pati ’yung musical that Chito Roño is doing. I heard about it at sayang, I haven't worked with him pa naman.
Does Christine (his Mint co-endorser) attract you?
Medyo click naman kaming dalawa! Why not? She’s beautiful naman! Madali namang ma-attract sa kanya. Pero pagdating sa relationship, siguro we’d rather be good friends.
Can you do man-to-man kissing in a movie?
It depends sa kissing scene at sa person. If it’s a role that will serve my purpose at naka-align doon sa takbo ng career ko, ‘di ba? I just won’t do anything na walang saysay. Depende sa story. To tell you honestly, hindi lang ako magpapaka-daring o ano. But I will think about it. Pag-iisipan ko nang maigi. Kasi, hindi ko talaga iniisip ‘yun! Not in my wildest dreams. |
