Freddie Mercury (Queen)

"Mustapha" is a song written by Freddie Mercury and recorded by English rock band Queen. It is the first track of their 1978 album Jazz. "Mustapha" was released as a single in 1979.

The lyrics consist mostly of Arabic-sounding nonsense. The only actual words are "Mustapha", "Ibrahim" and the phrases "Allah, Allah, Allah will pray for you", "salaam aleikum" and "aleikum salaam".

In live performance, Mercury would often sing the opening vocals of Mustapha in place of the complex introduction to "Bohemian Rhapsody," going from "Allah will pray for you" to "Mama, just killed a man..." etc. However, sometimes they performed an almost full version of the song, with Freddie at the piano. They dropped the second verse and went from the first chorus to the third.

Although many fans tend to believe that Freddie could speak more languages because of this song lyrics (and other such as 'La Japonaise' and the "Bismilah" bit in Bohemian Rhapsody), he only knew English and perhaps Gujarati or Hindi, because of his Indian background and education in India.

Freddy ni agama Zorroastronism, peliknya he was cremated ... agama Zorro ni pada dia orang api tu suci (majusi kan puja api) ... so they wont pollute api by burning the dead bodies.  Agama ni juga tak pollute tanah dan air.

Kalau kat India, simati akan diletakkan di atas tower tinggi and then burung ereng akan makan mayat simati.

Aku memang minat Queen ... pasal Bohemian Rhapsody tu banyak theories, ada yang kata pasal evil ... tak tau la sapa yang evil, Freddy la kot.

Aku memang minat giler dengan Freddy Mercury ni, tapi tak sangka dia bisexual.  Masa skolah2 dulu, foo yoo...dress up ala2 Freddy (tapi versi pompuan la) kekonon cool.  Freddy pernah satu ketika nak buat gigi dia yang mancung tu supaya tak mancung bila dia banyak duit, tapi tak jadi, sebab dia kata itulah yang buat dia manis..hehehe

Lagu Bohemian Rhapsody ni kan pasal mamat ni ter-bunuh orang, pas tu masa dia kena hukum, dia sebut "Bismillah".  Banyak lagu2 Queen yang ditulis oleh Freddy ni, diselitkan perkataan Arab, sebab mengikut nya, Freddy dedicate kan lagu2 tu kepada negeri tanah lahir dia - Zanzibar.  Majority penduduk Zanzibar ni Muslim, tu sebab dia tau "Bismillah", "Mustapha" etc.  

Lagi satu, dia ni Parsi dari India, kalau dia tau bahasa Urdu, derang pun panggil tuhan tu Allah gak.  Macam my office colleagu dari New Delhi tapi Urdu speaker, dia Hindu, tapi aku terkejut nama anak dia Islam giler (makna: yang diberkati Allah).  Bila aku tanya dia Muslim ke, dia kata tak, suami dia muslim ke, dia kata tak, tapi dia kata memang ramai orang kat India cakap Urdu bagi nama macam nama Islam sebab bahasa Urdu tu.

Pastu baru aku teringat, bila derang wish kitarang Hari Raya, dia cakap Mubaraki Eid! (Hari Raya yang diberkati Allah).  Off Topic laks.
