FANS are looking forward to the “Ed Sheeran: Live in Kuala Lumpur” concert at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Monday (March 16).
Starting off as the opening act for the concert is local pop-rock singer Faizal Tahir, who is known for his energetic and unique live performances.
Although Faizal started singing in a nasyid band called Mirwana, he truly became a household name after clinching the runner-up title in the first season of reality show One in A Million (2006).
He has released three albums and has won various music awards such as Anugerah Industri Muzik, Anugerah Juara Lagu and Anugerah Planet Muzik.
Although he ran into a controversy in 2008 for ripping off his shirt and belt in a live television show, Faizal remains as one of the most popular local male singer.
His latest single (titled Assalamualaikum) is currently on heavy airplay on the local radios and is among the most popular songs in the charts.
Two-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has enjoyed a meteoric rise and has become a global phenomenon.
The 23-year old English singer-songwriter released his critically acclaimed second album x in June this year.
x peaked at No. 1 on iTunes in 83 countries, hit the #1 spot in the official charts in 14 countries, and became the biggest-selling album of the year after just six weeks.
The album spawned the singles The A Team, You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, Lego House and Give Me Love.
