SP: Since we (2NE1) were having a long break, I expressed to others that I would like to try acting and mc work. Somehow pres.Yang heard the rumor about me. One time, I accidentally bumped into him. He says me to; Sandara, you should just try to sing a little better. Don’t you think? (screen: Dara’s imitation also success) Maybe he was just telling me to do one thing well. I will work hard.
KSW: GHS is doing all kinds of work. What do you think about that?
SP: She is always advancing ahead of me even though we are same age. She is now a director. It is amazing to me. I visited her at the acting part and heard that she likes being called Dir. Goo. She is a friend that I can learn a lot from.
WY: Let us call her Dir. Goo. Hello, Dir.Goo. (GHS looks embarrassed)
KSW: Dara, you just said that you want to act. What if Dir. Goo casts you?
SP: It is good. One condition,,about the male actor,,,No, if it is a good project…
WY: is there a particular actor that you want?
SP: Kang Dong Won-ssi?
TY: No you cannot! No, No,,…All right,,go ahead.
SP: Whoever it may be, I will learn and do my best.
SY: She brings it up and she takes it back.
KSW: What kind of friend do you want GHS to be to you?
SP: She has been that way until now. But I hope that she continues to be a friend who send me brightness like the sun.

WY: She really came prepared. (laughter)
KSW: I heard that you came prepared with a special gift.
SP: A year ago, before our debut, we were invited to HJ’s radio show. At that time, I had a desire to be a mc, so I always carried a mike around. When she saw it, I thought she wanted one herself.
HS: you remember that?
SP: yes, I promised to make you one. But after that you did not invite us back so,,Even though a year has passed, I made one for you.
All: wow, so pretty,,we thought it was for GHS.

GHS:yes, they can look at it that way. But whatever the person has (i.,e, talents), the more the person ,,
WY: develop them..
GHS: yes, develop what they have is a very necessary part. You can get intoxicated by alcohol or whatever. But what is wrong with also getting intoxicated by you? That is how I think.
WY: (softly yet intensely) that is right.
GHS: ahh, it is difficult.
KSW: As I listen to you, I feel like the term pal-bang-mi-in=all-around beauty seems to fit you well.

KSW: Of course, if you interprete pal-bang-mi-in positively, it means somebody who has the ability to be good at everything. However, if it is negatively interpreted, it is talking about a person who may have lots of talents but is not specially good at anything particular. What do you think about that?
GHS: But I do think about, do I have to be really good at something? Do I have to be the best, number 1 only? Everybody who is not the number 1 are number 2, number 3 or the very last. But is it necessary to do that? This work or other types of cultural work, we do it to enjoy them. (on screen: more important than competition is to enjoy) If what I want to do is not one but many things and I may not do them properly, I feel that it is more important to just try/do them.
WY: challenging yourself.
GHS: yes.
KSW: All the work that GHS is doing now, I think we will all be curious as to how she continues to develop them.. (All agrees)

KSW: have you ever heard people say that you, ‘nuh kkendah=you break it’ ?

GHS: yes, I heard it often.
KSW: mm. First, when I see you just from your appearance, you appear frail. And you have an celestial female image.
GHS: In reality, I am generally good-natured. Sometimes, I hear lots of people tell me I am like a man.
TY: like a general?
GHS: yes. A general (on screen: General Goo)
KSW: When I see you, you seem quiet, quiet and seem bashful. You seem like a person who would fall into your own world and not be too concerned with others’ affairs.
GHS: But I tend to be more meddling than expected. Once I was driving back home, there was a taxi in front of me. Whenever we stopped at the red light, I would see the driver seemingly choking the person besides him. I immediately determined that an emergency situation is occurring. I just chased after that taxi, thinking at that moment that I needed to save that person. So, I stopped my car in front of that taxi. But I discovered that the taxi driver was trying to fix the head rest of his car by kind of choking it. (laughter)
KSW: you did this alone?
GHS: yes.
KSW: this is not meddling, but a chivalrous spirit.
(on screen: GHS who cannot tolerate immorality/injustice.)
SY: then did you immediately return home?
GHS: immediately I made a U-turn and went home. (laughter)
WY: her image seems to be that she rarely get angry and even if she does get angry, she would quietly deal with it to herself.
GHS: I can get impetuous and flare up. But at times I regret too.
SY: When you flare up, do you also say rough words?
GHS: Ah, you mean curses?
SY: yes.
GHS: Definitely, I would use curse words that has a mix of affection in it.
(screen: affection meets curse?)
TY: like what?
GHS: you know that expression, ‘like a puppy/dog’? (Such irony: GHS is looking so sweet but she is referring to a curse that is very rough in Korean language. Notice the facial expressions of the mc’s!) But, for me, the people that I really, really like or very close to, if I curse at them, it also means that I really love them.

WY: So, those who get cursed out by GHS are receiving love from her.
HJ: It is so different from your image and a very wild personality. Wouldn’t such a personality be negative when you are dating?
GHS: When I am dating, to tell you the truth, I am not like that. I try hard to be more like good mother-good wife.
SY: the best female(?)
GHS: in front of someone that I like, I do turn into a woman. (laughter)
(on screen: GHS, if you know her, she kkenda everything!=she breaks down all preconceived images about her.)
SY: what is your style of love?
GHS: If I love someone, I love them even if their socks smell. I used to deliver packaged lunch boxes.
TY: lunch boxes take lots of effort and care. All agree.
GHS: I would make them and sometimes also order.
KSW: That does not sound like a dating person. She is making food for them and making sure they are healthy.
WY: maybe a dormitory caretaker/ajuma?
HJ: a mother.
GHS: But I feel that that is the right attitude to love someone---with the mind of a mom.
If you marry, he becomes your husband. As you live together, you may sometimes cannot stand him. But at that moment, instead of thinking of him as your husband, but as your son. With your son, you will always love that person no matter what. If he drops food while eating, you would wipe it for him. So, I try to think of my boyfriend not as my boyfriend but my son,..I think that I have always thought that to love that person in the way of original love (screen: mother and child) is the right way. GHS: yes.
TY: how?
GHS: I send letters. I call. And if I like the person, I just feel like constantly feeding the person.
KSW: is he an animal/baby(could not clearly hear)? Why do you keep on ‘feeding’ him? (laughter)

WY: I heard that you once made a proposal to Jung Woo Sung-ssi…
GHS: (shaking her hands vigorously—screen says with lightening speed) no, no, that was not like that. (WY imitates GHS) (GHS tries to calm herself down) Regarding Jung sunbae, he is working on directing a movie these days. I happen to see him at a play performance that I attended. I asked him for help with my short film. So, he kindly monitored my short film project and I personally received much help from him.
KSW: You met him for the first time and you approached him?

Thursday June 10, 2010. SSFF 2010 Kicks-off in high fashion @ Omotesando Hills!
Award winners Ikki Sawamura & the lovely Hye-sun Ku.
After a general rundown of the festival, the first treat for those gathered was the introduction of the "bijyomo's," which translates as beautiful models. They will help us staff the festival as information guides at the venues and festival-goers will be able to vote for their favorite on Twitter here in Japan.
2 prizes were awarded @ today's opening ceremonies: The "Wadai-sho" (a sort of "spotlight" award) went to director Hye-sun Ku, a very popular actress in Korea.
The "Tokubetsu-sho" (a "special mention" award) went to popular Japanese actor Ikki Sawamura for his directorial debut short "Shoooot!"
The final highlight was introduced by festival president Testuya Bessho. First, was Vice-Minister Fujimoto from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism. This year, we are inaugurating the "Let's Travel! Project" to promote tourism in Japan through short films.
Finally our very special guest, Korean superstar actor and the president of the Asiana International Film Festival in Korea, Sung-ki Ahn was brought up on the stage to greet the press. He will take part in the Japan-Korea symposium which will be one of the highlights of the festival this year.
So we had beauties and superstar actors and filmmakers to give us a great start to this year's festival.

I've returned from the 'Tokyo International Film festival's Short short's festival & Asia'. 'Cheerful caretaker' won a prize. It's the 'topic award'!!!!(N:translated as 'spotlight award' in an earlier piece of news) The staff (for her movie) suffered a lot. I will buy you gopchang(intestines). Please meet up. Meet up!!!!!!
