Petanda hoki merosot
Oleh AIDA ADILAH MAT
DULU lima, kini hanya satu.
揑a adalah pendedahan terbaik buat pemain jika mendapat peluang seperti Boon Huat.

Misi dua beradik

Hockey: Azlan Shah Cup hopefuls down to 30
16 Feb 2007
Jugjet Singh
THE trimming has started, and eight players were shown the door as national chief coach Sarjit Singh stepped up a notch to prepare for the Azlan Shah Cup on May 5-13 at the Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, Perak.
The initial training list was 40 but two players did not turn up, and with eight sent home yesterday, 30 players will vie for the 18 available slots for the Azlan Shah Cup.
"I conducted two fitness trials and after considering other factors, have trimmed the squad to 30 players.
"I have sent the list to the Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF) and it should be endorsed in a few days time," said Sarjit.
And just before the squad was released for the Chinese New Year holidays, misfortune struck midfielder Jiwa Mohan.
He was metres away from the National Hockey Stadium, when his motorcycle was involved in an accident with another motorcycle and fractured his arm.
" I am not sure if he will recover in time for the Azlan Shah Cup," said Sarjit.
The players will report back to camp on Feb 25.
"There has been much improvement in fitness as well as attitude for the past month, and once they return from their break, I will increase the intensity of training."
China, Pakistan, India, Australia and Argentina have confirmed entry for the Azlan Shah Cup and the Malaysian Hockey Confederation is waiting for one more team to complete the line-up. |

Wow, ada peminat hockey di sini!
Meyingkap masa silam .......Hami ada bermain masa sekolah2 dulu...posisi kesukaan left wing. Sekali attack dah macam anjing kehausan..! Tapi best.....biasanya Hami bawa bola keatas kemudian pas ke centre forward ...dia skor! Masa tu main atas padang rumputlah!
Masa nak state selection Hami tak pergi sebab nak exam.
Pengalaman .....huhuhuhu....macam2 beb . Pernah berbulan dagu lebam macam blue beard. Apa lagi kena palu kayu hockeylah. Nasib baik duduk di asrama ...mak apak tak tahu! |

Malaysian Junior Hockey League (MJHL) begins Friday
KUALA LUMPUR: The 12th Malaysian Junior Hockey League (MJHL) begins Friday with a record number of 23 teams taking part.
However, Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) hopes of defending the overall title, took a jolt even before the start of the league because of two players.
Defender Aliff Falihim Mokhtar and midfielder Tuan Abdul Walid Tuan Aziz, who are from Terengganu, have registered to play in the league with two different teams.
The duo signed up with Division Two outfit Terengganu Sports Council and also with MBPJ, last year's Division One league runners-up.
MPPJ coach Roslan Salikon said they have decided to release the duo a few days ago to allow them to join their home state teams, which are competing in the league in preparation for next year's Sukma (Malaysia Games) in Terengganu.
Nine teams will feature in Division One while 14 teams will compete in Division Two, which are divided into two groups.
The total prize money have also been increased to RM112,100 this season from RM97,000 last year, to make the league more competitive.
With Division Two divided into two groups, top two teams in each group will play in the semi-finals.
And the finalist will not only qualify for the knock-out state but the two teams will also gain automatic promotion to Division One next year.
For the first time, an open draw will be made for quarter-finals and semi-finals stages. |

揂dalah baik mereka dapat mengharungi perlawanan persahabatan menentang WAIS kerana pasukan itu turut dibarisi beberapa pemain kebangsaan Australia, |
