CHAMPION Roger Federer completed an elegant half century in 10 minutes yesterday to reach the third round.
Local hope Tim Henman, however, teased his long-suffering fans for more than three tense hours before his Wimbledon dreams were shattered by a Spaniard who serves and volleys.
Since making his debut here in 1994, the 32-year-old Briton has rarely done anything without an overdose of drama and his 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 2-6, 6-1 defeat by Feliciano Lopez proved no exception.
By the end of the five-set thriller each had won 153 points but unfortunately for four-times semi-finalist Henman, it was Lopez who had won all the important ones.

SERENA Williams was more willing to shrug off the unusual ending to her second-round victory at Wimbledon than her father was.
Richard Williams thought chair umpire Sandra de Jenken overstepped her authority on Wednesday by reminding his daughter抯 opponent, Alicia Molik of Australia, that a questionable call could be challenged under the replay system making its All England Club debut this year.

WIMBLEDON: Juara Terbuka Perancis Justine Henin menjadi pemain pertama layak ke pusingan keempat di Wimbledon selepas menumpaskan Elena Vesnina dari Rusia, 6-1, 6-3, semalam.
Pemain di ranking pertama itu yang tewas kepada Amelie Mauresmo di final tahun lalu di Kelab Seluruh England, sekali lagi dilihat bermain dengan tampalan pada kaki kanannya. Dia dilaporkan mengalami tendinitis di kaki kanannya tetapi ia tidak memberi kesan kepada permainannya.
Permainan ditangguh lebih satu jam akibat hujan ketika Justine mendahului 3-2 di set kedua. Sebaik permainan diteruskan, Justine hanya mampu mematahkan pukulan lawan pada permainan kelapan.
