And finally the real drama king is back with another excitement yang sangat mengujakan peminat2 beliau, so mari kita bedah siasat apa yang sangat mengujakan tentang album ini.
Album ini dibuka dengan track Adrenalin, sound pop rock yang fresh. Its just a fine track, nothing much to said but the way it ended, well. Track kedua Superhero bagi aku tertalu Faizal, kita memang sudah boleh predict lagu-lagu begini akan ada dalam album baru beliau so masih lagi belum benar2 buat aku teruja.
Till the next stop which is Selamat Malam single kedua selepas Bancinta. The piano works really great Izham! Lagu ini sebuah trak yang complicated bagi aku, the way how Audi blend the ballad with the mood of classic rock really turns me on (rujuk I Dont Wanna Miss a Thing - Aerosmith) but sometimes the strings buat aku rasa lagu ni bingit sikit, at this point yes, adrenalin aku benar2 move.
Karma is wow bagi aku. The melody is so good, and the chorus is the killer especially part hey.. hey.. Thumbs up untuk Audi dan FT. I keep repeating this song over and over again before move to the next track. One of Audi best work! Hanyut bermula dengan vocal solo FT dan ini adalah track yang meletakkan emosi FT paling baik dalam album ini. Ada dua version studio n acoustic aku enjoy kedua2nya sebab macam aku cakap tadi this is the best emotion that FT give in this album. Melodi lagu ini sangat baik, dan bait lirik "Aku memang bersalah selalu saja mengabaikanmu / kusedari segala perih kau lalui ku terlupa kau terluka" good shot for the next AJL!
Track 6 Bencinta kita skip sebab semua orang dah tau dan faham pasal lagu ni, so takde apa sangat nak cakap. Sebab track Muzik is the much way better, sound rock+classical = Queen yang sangat mengancam, melodi Terbaik Audi dalam Adrenalin and the arrangement is awsome! Aku sangat enjoy membaca lirik lagu ini pemilihan perkataan seperti serius, mentaliti mundur, kosa kata, etc. buat aku fikir wow sebab aku ingat Ad Samad je yang berani nak pakai words yang macam tu. This is my no.2 fav track after Karma.
Semesta bermula perlahan buat aku tak berminat sangat but when the actual music masuk it sound better, dan semakin ke hujung Semesta menjadi sangat menarik track ini bersambung dengan hidden track a.k.a FT Thank You yang ada back-up suara Nikki. It ended very very well ibarat menonton sebuah konsert live.
Overall this is one of the best Audi work after Hawa, and much way better daripada Aku .Muzik.Kamu yang bagi aku sangat pop. Album ini ada good shot untuk bersaing dalam kategori Best Album untuk next AIM. Congrats to FT, Audi and the crew Adrenalin aku benar2 move dengan karya hebat ini, even yes literally FT is not my fav esp. bila dia bercakap but aku tak bias dalam perihal muzik, he`s great and he should do a lot more on this kind of product.

aku suka adrenalin. aku kurang suka karma sama hanyut. tak leh terima sangat. lagu karma tuh macam copy cat somewhere lah. tapi stil aku ok jek dengar. lagu hanyut tipikal sangat. bukan pasal kamu kamu, tapi mungkin tak minat melodi dia. yg lain tak dengar lagi.
p/s: apsal ramai orang bising pasal lirik kamu2? maksud aku yg anti FT, reputz dll. kamu tu bahasa omputeh kah? bahasa Jerman kah? bahasa planet Zuhal kah? cuba balik tengok buku skolah rendah kamu tu kata ganti nama diri kedua. nampak ngat kecik2 dah pandai ponteng kelas.  |

ADRENALIN ****
I haven't been reviewing Malaysian music for a while. And who can blame me, given the dearth of new (and worthwhile) releases of late… its a sad predicament of the local music scene. So it is with great pleasure that I start the first review of the year with Faizal Tahir’s sophomore record: ADRENALIN.
It must have been a daunting task trying to top the irresistible debut that is AKU.MUZIK.KAMU, the winner of the AIM Album of the year in 2008 as well as home to many chart topping hits. That was very much in the minds of Faizal Tahir and Audi Mok when approaching the follow-up. But, rather that treading down the tried and tested path, the dynamic duo had wisely opted to experiment a bit this time around, expanding their creative horizon’s with some surprising results.
Opening this tight record (only 8 original tracks in all) is the confident, Coldplay-esque ADRENALIN. Then things get rockin’ in SUPERHERO, the most ‘definitive’ Faizal Tahir track in the set. Then there is the stunning first single BENCINTA, with that Queen- inspired beat. Still sounds refreshingly groundbreaking after almost a year after its release. I am hoping that this track wins song of the year during this year’s AIM awards.
But things turn dark and gloomy with KARMA, representing a dramatic departure in terms of song writing and arrangement for the team. For those with a discernable ear might notice some backing vocals courtesy of Siti Nurhaliza backing vocals in there.
Representing a complete turnabout, the ruckus MUZIK is of-kilter crazy in a good kinda way. The song cheekily showcases the duo wicked sense of humour and not taking everything at face value. Like the song’s Queen-esque chorus asks: Kenapa terlalu serius? Dengarlah muzik!
Rock ballads are still featured, and SELAMAT MALAM, the second single does a great job in building in on the emotions without ever being too schmaltzy. But if there is one song that is destined to be a knockout anthem is the sublime, emotionally wrought HANYUT, easily my favourite track on the album. It starts of with Faizal’s singing a capella and then slowly layering in the orchestrations. And that bridge, perhaps one of the best I heard in a Malay song, is simply ah-may-zing! For those wanting a more romantic groove, there is also a acoustic version of the song, showcasing Faizal’s earnest vocals to great effect.
And as a thank you tribute to his fans, the album closes with SEMESTA, but what it makes it unique is the hidden reprise. Presented in an ‘and the band played on’ sorta way, the reprise builds on the song, with a hint of influences such as Alanis, Guns N Roses and even Prince cleverly interspersed in there.
All in all, this is a strong collection of songs showcasing the next stage of evolution of Faizal Tahir’s innovative and highly listenable brand of rock music. but, the big question is: can this album repeat the debut’s performance at the AIM awards this year? We will have to wait and see. But there is no question that Faizal and Audi had definitely deliver the goods: no sophomore slump here…

dah hafal pun...
conclusion...puas ati la...tapi takleh lawan aku.muzik.kamu...

aku x suka sgt hanyut.. tp x dpt dinafikan FT punya "feel" utk hanyut mmg terbaik esp versi akustik..cara nyanyian pun berbeza.. FT guna key berbeza stp kali ulang chorus..bridge ulang 2 kali, agak unik..
rasanya kebanyakan lagu2 faizal susah org lain nk bawak...klupun blh hit note tinggi, blum tentu diorang blh bagi "feel" dan "attitude" dlm lagu seperti faizal.. |
