Charles Manson ni memang famous la ... dahi dia dia kelar buat lambang swastika ... dia ni pun musician dulu, salah sorang ahli kumpulan Beach Boys (dah tak ingat nama) pun pernah terlibat dengan Charles Manson masa zaman flower power dan psychedillic rock dulu.  Pergerakan dia orang ni aku dah lupa nama, The Family kot ... term yang dia orang guna dulu ialah groupie ... macam hippies.



In 1990's Guns N Roses dalam album Spaghetti Incident pernah rakamkan salah satu lagu Manson iaitu Look At Your Game Girl.

You may know Sharon from such films as Valley of the Dolls, Wrecking Crew, and Don't Make Waves.

Sadly, you may also know her as a victim of the infamous "Manson Family". In August of 1969, my sister, Sharon, at age 26, was married to prominent movie director, Roman Polanski, and expecting their first child. Sharon was eight and a half months pregnant. My younger sister, Patti, and I were ecstatic at the thought of becoming aunts for the first time. My Mother and Father were anxiously awaiting this child as well. It would have been their first grandchild. It was not to be.

The Manson "family" murderers entered the grounds of my sister's home and murdered five people that fateful night; Steven Parent, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Voyteck Frykowski and my sister, Sharon Tate. Since then, my family and I have seen my sister's name linked to that of madness and evil.

De Salvo posed as a detective, gaining easy entry. In actions completely uncharacteristic of his previous methods, he allowed his would-be victim to live.

Modus Operandi
De Salvo would spend a little time targeting his victims, gaining admission to the premises under the guise of being an official authorised to carry out business in the unsuspecting victim's home.

All his victims were women, sexually assaulted, and strangled - usually with an item of their own clothing (stockings, tights which he would tie with a bow under the chin). In some cases strangulation had been accompanied by biting, bludgeoning and stabbing.

For reasons which even De Salvo confessed to not knowing, he would position the victims body, after killing them, in obscene positions in such a way that whoever entered the house after he left would be presented with the shocking sight with no warning.

Motives
After the murder of Helen Blake, forensic psychiatrists were enlisted to help profile the killer committing these atrocities against women. The resulting opinions were that he was a youngish man (18-40), suffering delusions of persecution and with a hatred of his mother (this was before younger victims started to appear).

However, on 5th December of the initial year of the murders, the theory of the killer being a mother-hater collapsed when Sophie Clark was murdered.

A new 'psychofit' was provided by the 'father' of American Psychological profiling, Dr James Brussel. The Killer was now considered to be aged 30, strongly built, average height, clean shaven with thick dark hair; possibly of Spanish or Italian background - and a paranoid schizophrenic. It was amazingly accurate when compared with the killer later on.

When being question by the police as to why he targeted such a variety of women from young to mature, he responded impatiently...

"Attractiveness had nothing to do with it...When this certain time comes on me, it's a very immediate thing. When I get this feeling, instead of going to work I make an excuse to my boss. I start driving and I start building this image up, and that's why I find myself not knowing where I'm going."

Comments
Despite all the efforts of all involved trying to solve the case, it was the strangler himself who caused his own capture.

On 27th October, 1964, he entered a young woman's home posing as a detective. He tied his victim to the victim's bed, proceeded to sexually assault her, and suddenly left, saying "I'm sorry" as he went. The woman's description to the police led to his identification as Albert De Salvo, with the publication of his photo resulting in women coming forward in droves identifying him as the man who had assaulted them. At this point, De Salvo was not suspected of being involved with the spate of stranglings that had taken place over a period of nearly two years, and wasn't until he was being held on a rape charge that he confessed in great detail his activities as the Boston Strangler.

However, there was no evidence to substantiate his confession, and as such, stood trial for earlier, unrelated crimes of robbery and sexual offences. He was sent to prison for life in 1967, but was to be murdered six years later while in his cell.

The "Killer Clown"

John Wayne Gacy, used his home as a killing field and burial ground. From 1975 to 1978, in his ranch style home, Gacy sexualy assaulted, tortured, and murdered numerous boys and young men

Gacy was born in Chicago on March 17, 1942. Having a protective mother and a harsh father who would often come home, go down to the basement, sit in a stuffed chair, and get drunk; later, drunk, he'd come up for dinner and start beating his wife and children. As a child, John had been sruck on the head by a swing, causing a blood clot on the brain, which was undetected for several years. Apart from being a petty thief, he had an uneventful chilhood.

He later attended business school, got married, and lived for a time in Iowa. Gacy managed a fried chicken business in Waterloo, where he became a respected community member. Nothing about him seemed abnormal, although he boasting alot, he seemed a kind and generous man.

Then at aged 26, Gacy was arrested for sexually assaulting a young boy. The trial disclosed that he had forced the handcuffed boy to have sex with him. He then paid his victim to keep quiet about the incident. But the youth testified against him anyway. In response, Gacy hired another young man to beat up the boy. Once found guilty and sentenced to ten years in prison, his wife divorced him. His good behavior won him an early parole in 1971, and he was placed on probation. After his release, he moved to Harwood Heights to begin a new life. He remarried and started a construction business, which he ran from his house. He was out of prison for less than a year when he was arrested for soliciting a juvenile male for sex. But the charges were dropped when his victim failed to appear in court.

Again seeking recognition and status, Gacy involved himself in local politicts and other community activities. Gacy often donated time and money to help people in need. He even dressed up as a clown to entertain children at different social events.

In 1975, while he was still married, one of his teenage employees vanished; it was after this that his wife noticed an unpleasant smell in the house. After there seperation in the following year, Gacy made a habit of picking up teenage homosexuals, or luring young teenagers to his house handcuffing them, and then committing sodomy. They were finally strangled, and the bodies disposed of, usually in the crawl space under the house.

In March 1978, a twenty-seven-year-old named Jeffrey Rignall accepted an invitation to smoke pot in Gacy's Oldmobile. While there, Gacy clapped a chloroform-soaked rag over his face, and when Rignall woke up he was being sodomised in Gacy's home. Gacy raped him repeatedly and flogged him with a whip; finally, he chloroformed him again and left him in a park. Since rignall's memory had been fogged by chloroform, he could not pinpoint the location of the house, none-the-less, Rignall was determined to find his asailant. When he spotted the vehical, he copied down the licence plate number and gave it to the police. Gacy was arrested and then released because of lack of evidence.

On December 11, 1978 Gacy invited a fifteen-year-old boy, Robert Piest to his home to talk about a summer job. When the boy failed to return, police were sent to search Gacy's house. Alerted by the odour, they investigated the crawl space and found fifteen bodys and parts of others. Gacy was promptly arrested. Later investigaters returned to Gacy's house and began to remove the floors. In the crawl space beneath the house, they discovered several bodys in shallow graves and long trenches. Many of the bodys had been covered with quicklime to hasten their decay. The house was raised, more bodys were found. A total of 28 corpses were eventually unearthed. Gacy admitted to having dumped five more bodys in the nearby Des Plains River. In all Gacy murdered 33 victims.

Gacy went to trial in March 1980 and pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Nobody bought his insanity plea, and he was found guilty and sentenced to die in the electric chair. In 1980 they changed the way of death, from electic chair to leathal injection. John Wayne Gacy was executed on 10 May, 1994.

In 1998 police searched a carparking lot, located at the back of Gacy's mothers house. Authorities believe they have found the remains of another 3 or 4 bodys.
