Tom told Elizabeth Keen in "The Blacklist" Season Finale, titled "Berlin," that her father is alive, while Red said that her father is dead for sure. Also, Red revealed to Liz that her life will be in danger if she comes to know about her father's identity. There are mysteries attached to Liz, and she is now standing at a place where her world has imploded. When "The Blacklist" returns with a new season, Liz will be seen trying to figure out her real identity and what she wants to become.
"She's not really Elizabeth or Keen, so her identity and what she wants to become is going to be one of the most exciting things about Season 2," Jon Bokenkamp, creator of "The Blacklist," said to TV Guide.
The Season 1 finale of "The Blacklist" gave Berlin a face, but did not reveal why he is targeting Red. One of the highlights of the final episode was Berlin's story about a KGB man and his daughter. It is being assumed that Red may have something to do with the death of Berlin's daughter and thus he is seeking revenge.
Bokenkamp said that Berlin assumes that Red killed his daughter. "That's likely the case, but one of the things that we like doing with our storytelling is giving an answer, but still having another way to approach that answer. There's a story that Berlin believes and one that Red believes, but it may be more complex than that," he said.
Berlin is likely to be the main antagonist of Season 2. Bokenkamp thinks that the story of Berlin-Red is interesting because "Red is still operating in the dark to an extent, in terms of what he's done to this man and why he's after him."
At the end of the episode, Red was looking at a photo of a woman, which he had taken from the Stewmaker's album. Bokenkamp said that Red has some suspicion about Berlin's identity, but there are a lot of questions associated to that.
"It's going to be fun to get to know Peter Stormare's character and understand their relationship and how they're connected," Bokenkamp said.
The show, however, is not going to follow the serialised format, as there is always going to be the 'Blacklister of the week', according to Bokenkamp.
Meanwhile, NBC is shifting "The Blacklist" to Thursday nights as part of its 2014-15 T.V. season plans. There is likely to be a change in Australian timing, as well. |

sayang pulak blacklist redemption got cancelled jus after one season.. they couldve explored tom's parents characters.. still cant wait for the new season of blacklist to be aired this coming Fall..
