This writer receives almost everyday dozens of emails inquiring about his recent news and information. A friend in the media even claimed that their magazine뭩 circulation was vastly improved after they did a feature story about BYJ. Now they simply have to better that!
Although it is only recently that BYJ becomes popular in the Korean wave movement, he has been for a long time, the darling for many Korean ladies, and is popularly known as the 멷lite prince?in the TV circles.   
On a trip to Korea, when I was chatting with a Korean lady friend, the moment the name BYJ came up, my friend was full of praise for him. ?BYJ is irreplaceable in the hearts of Korean ladies!?No wonder one can see BYJ appearing in commercials everywhere in Korea, from fashion, mobile phones, foodstuffs, even banks have asked him to be their spokesman.
A reader may asked ?밄YJ is not immensely handsome, why is he so popular??Many people have tried to analyse the reasons for his popularity and there are mainly 3 reasons.
Firstly, his looks are indeed different from the typical mainstream handsome leads, most of them being the rugged rough types, handsome in the traditional sense. BYJ뭩 good looks however are more sensitive and subtle and his speech is soft and polite. There are few in Korea TV entertainment circle with this look, even fewer with the glasses that have become his trademark. BYJ himself said, ?I used to wear contact lenses. The director in 멦he Greetings of Love?asked me to put on glasses for my role. The audience liked it very much and it has become part of me ever since.?

The second reason for his popularity is his bright, sunny but not rugged smile. There was a survey that claimed that most of his supporters are 멟ffice Ladies? Many people believe that his smile and looks are the makings of the perfect 멠rince Charming?in love stories, labeling him as the 멷lite prince? In addition, in his 8 years of acting career, there have been very few scandals or bad publicity about him, making his image very healthy and rendering him the perfect fantasy idol to his fans.

The last reason is that the roles that he plays can touch the hearts of many. Whether it is Joon Siang in Endless Love 2, or Franck Shin in the Hotelier, many people end up falling in a love with the characters he plays. Of course this have much to do with his acting skills. Apparently he takes several months to prepare for every single role and hence is often able to surprise and delight his fans with his performance.

I have spoken a lot here but obviously not enough for his fans. The next time, we will talk about his acting career developments.

Screening of Endless Love 2 should not be stopped!

Endless Love 2 is not very fantastic, namely because 1: the development of the dual character of Joon Siang takes too  long, 2: the death and then subsequent revival of Joon Siang seems too far fetched. 3: the love triangles between the 4 characters are too long winded, and slow moving. In addition, 2 other reasons not due to the fault of the series: 1: it is being screened on weekends, making catching up very difficult. 2: almost every other week, it is being rescheduled 멹or programming schedules reasons? besides getting angry with the changes, it also vastly reduce the desire to continue watching the series.

Let뭩 elaborate on 1: Joon Siang is actually not the main lead, he appears in only the 1st 2 episodes, from episode 3 onwards, the story belongs to Lee Ming Hyoung. One wonders why the director insists on combining these 2 characters that are poles apart into 1 role, like combining 2 in 1 shampoo. The only connection between Joon Siang and Min Hyoung is amnesia. But amnesia can only eliminates ones?memories, it cannot change one뭩 character to the extreme. Moreover, when Joon Siang was knocked down by the car, he was already a teenager in his 16, 17s, why then did he never asked his mother about his childhood, and only becomes suspicious when he fell in love with Yu Jin.

2. The director wants to portray Yu Jin as one who loves only 1 man in her entire life, but also wants to create climaxes in the show. He then refuses to let Joon Siang die, in the end, not only was Yu Jin confused, even the audience was turning in circles, not knowing who exactly she was really in love with.

3. Even though Yu Jin never had feelings with Siang Hae from young, she mysteriously got engaged with him later. Nothing was mentioned about their love life and why it changed from platonic to love, giving an impression that it is 멹or the sake of a show?
When Min Hyoung knew about his past, he  had lots of chance to reveal all to Yu Jin but was in fact so hesitant that he had to do so only when she was trying on her wedding gown. This contrasts too greatly with the bold and direct behaviour of Min Hyoung when he first appeared and seems baseless. If one wishes for logic in a show, Endless Love 2 will not be a top choice. Luckily most viewers do not look for logic but only ask for a touching story line that leads that by their emotions. Endless Love 2 is indeed a tear gas bomb, from sighs, sobs, to weeps and wails. Is Korea the sob nation? Only time will tell.

But their values do seem to have stood still in time, when Yu Jin refuses to marry her fianc?because she no longer loves him, her mother뭩 reply was ?at a time like this, you have to marry even if you do not wish to? When Siang Hae realizes he was about to lose Yu Jin, he furiously brought her to the hotel and wanted to force her to succumb to him. These scenes will make lots of modern HK viewers reel with disbelief in this new millennium. But if we ponder deeper, why not? This after all, is the how Chinese have been portrayed all along, so what if Korean wants to take the lead in this?
Endless Love 2 is not only traditional in its theme, even its theme song, cinematography, and mood are traditional. In some of the sad scenes, it makes one think about the almost disappearing sounds of old Cantonese folk tunes. 밚ong winded?is no longer a negative term, the more long winded a story is, the longer a viewer can submerged oneself in it, thereby shortening the time when one can to emerge into the harsh real world and once again become logical and quick thinking.

The series should not been screened on weekend nites, the more it should not be stopped halfway. There was something missed out in the attempt to recover viewership ratings. These kind of 몂ut of this world 몊eries should be shown on weekdays after 10 pm, at a time when everyone뭩 body and minds are at their most lax and receptive. A show뭩 quality affects the ratings but a suitable screening time can be a catalyst. Asia TV뭩 scheduling strategy is at fault!

From Endless Love 2 to The Beautiful Days.

What is so watchable about Korean moves? Or should we say Korean shows is quite attractive to most SEA viewers. In reality, the story lines are quitre comparable to most HK popular dramas, being sad family sagas. On the other hand, Japanese shows, have developed from long character dramas to a new stage of using visual effects to win points. This is however not the traditional cup of tea for Hk and TW viewers, their response being more muted. No wonder ?Winter Love Song? even having nothing to do with Endless Love in story line, had to be renamed Endless Love 2, in an attempt to portray it as the same sorrowful show with lots of pretty scenary. But while Endless Love was about never-ending love, it lead viewers to believe that the female lead in Endless Love 2 would be similar in her commitment to her 1st love. It turned out that the lead later fell in love with someone with similar looks to her 1st love, thereby lessening the feeling s of compassion for her.
Actually, Endless Love 2 is quite poetically shot with a not bad story line, if only less attempts were made to sell it as similar to Endless Love, it would뭭e been more widely accepted.
Conversely, ?the beautiful Days?being shown on HK TV may have a better chance. This series already had good reviews in TW, those who watched the 1st episode should know, it is similarly dramatic and tear inducing. However, it moves along much faster , from childhood to meeting to parting and growing up, little time is wasted in underlining the main story, including the death of Liu ShiYuan뭩 father caused by Lee Bing Sian뭩 dad. (translation note: the writer then proceeds to give a summary of the story line)?
The director breezes through the story, yet retaining the typical pretty scenary. Plus the casts were quite adequate in their portrayals, making it a possible Endless Love in the making!
A mention is made about the move JSA by Lee Bing Sian, who is handsome and mesmerizing in his eyes. Liu Shi Yuan looks a bit plump, but is familiar due to his earlier collaboration with Jin Shan Xi in 밣roposal? Coupled with good performances from Choi Ji Woo of Endless Love 2 and pop queen Lee Zhen Xian, plus a traditional family sad saga, makes this a series to watch out for.

No efforts spared by the director of Endless Love 2

Even before its screening, the media have been trying to analyse the similarities between Endless Love 1 and 2. The director being the same person, both stories are wound round the seasonal theme. Regardless of the similarities, one thing is definite; the cast is different. The 2 leads in Endless Love 1 are now wildly popular- the new film by Song Cheng Xian for HK director Yuan Kui will be screened during X뭢as, the mobile phone commercial by Song Hui Qiao can be found everywhere here.
On the other hand, the 2 new leads Choi Ji Woo and BYJ are not very well known in HK. One reason could be that the serial is being screened on Asia TV without publicity, the other reason being the high popularity of the 2 actors in Meteor Garden (being shown on HK cable TV) overshadowing everything else.
No matter what, nothing detracts from the performance of Choi JW and BYJ. Some may say that CJW is not as pretty as Song Hui Qiao, although the latter can merely be said to be pleasant to the eye. The biggest draw about SHQ is her fair complexion and simple air, making her very non-threatening and so appealing to man. CJW is also not pretty but equally charismatic as Shen Ying Xia and the way she pouts in stubbornness has a similar air to Lin ChingSia (translation note: a popular TW actress in the 70s, once labeled as the No 1 Chinese beauty). She portrays the career woman wounded by love in the series, and very melancholy. Her isolation and sense of loss when Lee Ming Hyong appeared in her life makes the audience full of pity for her. The lead actor BYJ is indeed brave and handsome (translation note: a play on the Chinese words Yong = brave, Jun=handsome), proving again that astuteness of the director in his choices, again no efforts spared.
If we say the Song Cheng Xian is a good looking boy, one cannot deny that BYJ is also very easy on the eye. His good nose shape, other than Jiao En Jun (a TW actor), no one comes close in comparison. Also, his perfect set of pearlies (even if they are fake, they look perfect) makes his smile so bright and sunny. There are few actors who are able to take camera close-ups so well, really a case of ?such a waste if he does not sell toothpaste!?
Speaking of which, let뭩 compare popular actors from China, TW, Japan, Korea, HK. Popular China actors are either the character actor, singer type or the soft girly type whom one can appreciate from far but does not dare to approach. The popular ones in TW are either with a bit of J-pop flavour, eg, the 4 boys from Meteor Garden, or neither eastern nor western like Jay Chou, Lee Hom. We dare to approach them for fun but they may not last. Japanese idols are most varied, from ugly ones to handsome ones to real yong adolescent types. Those without the burdens of historical baggage can have fun with them and not mind whether it lasts. For HK, sad to say, where it is most disappointing. Yes, there are many packaged stars like Aaron Kwok and Nicholas Tse, but they cannot withstand the test of time. They can be seen from far but we would rather run than approach them. Lastly Korea, in this year뭩 HK academy awards seminar, famous producer Ms Shi NanShen made a seemingly senseless remark of the deep impact of Korean shows on the HK move industry ??where do they find so many good looking girls and guys??This shows that the number of Korean shows that Ms Shi must have seen must be quite limited, because the truth is not so. I can only say that the ones who manage to break into the international market and make big bucks are only good looking ones remains to be seen, but they almost invariably have a uniquely fatal weapon. Like BYJ mentioned above, he may not have much instincts for acting, but he can withstand repetitive scrutiny. Whether you want to appreciate from afar or scrutinize close up, it is up to you. As a result, this series may not be fantastic, it does have something that makes you want to continue watching. As to why it is not fantastic, that뭩  a story for another day.

setuju 100%. kalau dia tayangkan pukul 5.00 pun ada ampun lagi . sekurang-kurangnya terlewat 1/2 jam pun tak apa, ini pukul 4.00 start pukul 5.00 habis mana ada can nak tengok sikit pun. tapi kalau dah tak ada pilihan gak, jawapnya hari ini 1/2 day, esok mc, minggu depan annual leave, unpaid leave pas tak tahu la lagi.(jangan sampai berhenti kerja udah. Tapi tak ada tamu bernama Bae Yong Jun. Juga tidak ada kehebohan seperti yang diceritakan. Bintang dapat info lain, ada penggemar dari milis BJY Fans Indonesia mengejar ke Bali. Tapi saat dihubungi, ia menyebut BYJ terus berpindah-pindah tempat. Ia juga menyebut Mr Bae, manajer Bae Yong Jun ikut dalam rombongan sebanyak enam orang ini. Dari info lain yang Bintang dapatkan, manajer Bae yang juga manajer Song Hye Kyo, Park Yong Ha tidak ikut. Malah ada penggemar lain menulis telah bertemu langsung Bae Yong Jun di bandara. Bae Yong Jun yang ramah membagi foto dan meneleponnya. Ooo! Bintang mencoba mengkonfirmasi ke Korea, tapi ponsel Mr Bae sulit dikontak.

Berita yang layak dipercaya Bintang peroleh ketika Jumat malam lalu seorang pembaca bernama Jovita yang berlangganan Bintang sejak 1995, bertemu langsung Bae Yong Jun di Bali. Dari semula ragu, Bintang yakin pas ada bukti foto -- bisa dilihat di halaman ini. Jovita yang fans berat Bae Yong Jun, jelas tidak menyangka akan bertatap muka langsung dengan bintang kesayangannya itu. \"Saya jatuh cinta dengan wajah maupun aktingnya sejak menonton Hotelier. Sejak itu saya berburu semua VCD Bae Yong Jun,\" kisah Jovita dengan tawa renyah. Percaya atau tidak, ia sudah menonton ulang serial Hotelier 18 kali. Selain itu, suvenir dan pernak pernik berbau Bae Yong Jun memenuhi kamar dan ruang kantornya di daerah Sunter, Jakarta. Makanya, ia mengaku beruntung sekali pas liburan ke Bali, menginap di hotel butik Kharista, Canggu di mana Bae Yong Jun juga berdiam di situ. \"Aku suenengnya minta ampun! Hati ini deg-degan dikasih tahu kabar ini. Kok bisa kebetulan banget,\" Jovita mengenang perasaannya. Perempuan Surabaya ini berdebar-debar menanti Bae Yong Jun yang Sabtu, 11/103, itu rencananya check in. \"Kabarnya ia tiba dari Seoul larut malam dan sempat menginap di hotel Bali Beach. Besoknya baru masuk ke hotel sama dengan saya,\" katanya. Agen di Bali yang spesialis melayani orang-orang Korea, mengatur segala akomodasi selama Bae Yong Jun dan kru. Bae Yong Jun menginap dalam cottage eksotik yang berisi 3 kamar dengan kolam renang pribadi di dalamnya. Untuk itu ia harus merogoh kocek 6 juta. Dari salah satu sumber, khusus Bae Yong Jun pihak hotel mendiskon hingga 60 persen.

\"Saya langsung melompat dari tempat tidur begitu Bae Yong Jun dan rombongannya, 17 orang, turun dari mobil. Wuaah, dari jauh saja sudah tampak ganteng sekali! Badannya gede tinggi. Waktu itu ia agak sedikit membungkuk. Kulitnya tidak terlalu putih, tapi sedap dipandang!\" cerita Jovita. Hotel lantas membuat penyambutan khusus. Terlihat bingkisan bunga dan kado-kado suvenir. Sebelum penyambutan, Bae Yong Jun terlihat duduk di pinggir kolam renang dengan celana pendek santai. \"Ia asyik merokok sendirian di sana,\" tutur Jovita. Katanya, keren sekali gaya Bae Yong Jun saat itu. Tak lama kemudian Bae Yong Jun diajak ke kamar, make-up. \"30 menit kemudian keluar kamar, aduh, duh tambah ganteng! Ia memakai kemeja dan celana putih dan menerima buket bunga dengan senyum manis! Saya senang sekali, rambutnya kiwir-kiwir, jauh lebih keren dibanding di Winter Sonata,\" kata Jovita mengenang kenangan manis ini.

Jovita tidak mampu menyembunyikan perasaan senangnya. Tapi ia harus bersabar untuk bisa berdekatan dengan pria berusia 31 tahun, 29 Agustus mendatang. Pasalnya, asisten bernama Jennifer sudah memperingatkan untuk tidak mengusik Bae Yong Jun dengan foto atau tanda tangan. \"Bae Yong Jun sudah lapar sekali, katanya. Jadi biarkan ia makan dulu,\" kata Jovita. Dari hasil pengamatannya, tidak ada wartawan sama sekali dalam pesta itu. Sebelum ini, pihak hotel sudah berjanji mematuhi keinginan Bae Yong Jun, tidak ada pers, juga tidak ada foto. Jovita sempat melihat ada sekelompok penggemar masuk sebentar, lantas keluar lagi. Jovita kemudian berhasil memotret Bae Yong Jun. \"Aduh, saya tidak kuat setiap kali membayangkan senyum manisnya. Kulit mukanya halus sekali,\" katanya.

Berhubung standing party, Jovita bebas mendekati Bae Yong Jun. Sayangnya, kacamata berwarna yang dikenakan Bae Yong Jun membuatnya tidak bebas mengamati pria itu. Tapi kata Jovita, tatkala foto katalog, Bae Yong Jun mengenakan kacamata tanpa kaca. Persis cerita umum tentang Bae Yong Jun yang menggunakan kacamata untuk memantapkan penampilannya. Bae Yong Jun terkesima dengan ceritanya menyaksikan Hotelier sebanyak 18 kali. \"Are you crazy, tanya Bae Yong Jun serasa tak percaya. Saya mesem-mesem saja. Lha, saking sering nonton ulang, saya hafal setiap adegan di serial itu. Bae Yong Jun sempat pula tanya benarkah ia populer sekali di Indonesia. Saya tunjukkan semua majalah, termasuk Bintang. Ia berdecak kagum,\" bilang Jovita. Pertemuan tanpa jarak membuat Jovita lancar bertanya soal asmaranya dengan Choi Ji Woo dalam bahasa Inggris. \"Bae Yong Jun cuma senyum cengar-cengir waktu itu. Ia tidak menjawab,\" katanya. Selama di Bali, tempat yang ia tahu pernah dikunjungi Bae Yong Jun adalah hotel Bali Cliff yang jadi lokasi pemotretan.

Keramahan Bae Yong Jun ia rasakan lagi pas pagi hari sepulang pria itu dari pijat. \"Ia menyapa duluan, selamat pagi dan melambaikan tangan,\" seru Jovita. Bae Yong Jun yang kadang pendiam, kadang banyak tawa ini, ternyata suka bercanda pula selama di Bali. \"Saya bilang kami penggemar Indonesia mendoakan kamu tambah sukses, ya. E, dia jawab, doamu saya tunggu lho, hahaha,\" beber perempuan lajang yang selama berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Lain waktu Jovita bercanda lagi menitip salam buat rekannya, Jang Dong Gun. \"Tahunya Bae Yong Jun lincah menjawab, \'hayo mau bayar berapa titip salam buat Jang Dong Gun\'. Sayang saya tidak bisa bahasa Korea. Jadi gemas juga melihat ia ngobrol dengan kru. Tapi asyik dan seru deh. Benar-benar pengalaman tak terlupakan,\" cetus Jovita. Duh, kita jadi ngiler. funny

kalau terah nak tahu kisah Lilla and the gang ni yang jumpa BYJ kat Bali tu  ada dalam freeboard Quilt tapi dah tak tahu kat page mana..tapi bestnye memang mereka kata BYJ ni tak sombong dan melayan mereka semua ni.BYJ faham kalau cakap English dengan dia.VOD penggambaran Manstar di Bali tu pun ada dengan translation dia sekali..

hmmm.....let me make a list...hehehhehehe......)

1. Did he smoke ? yes, he did smoke light cigarette, rarely though....
perhaps he\'s being so strict on himself for his next movie \"Scandal\"
2. He loves to joke with his friends/crew around, he\'s laughing a lot.....)
i.e. his friend stood quietly, suddenly he\'s kind of rammed his hands (did
boxing)
to his friend\'s shoulder playfully....
we\'re shake our heads for his devilish charming.....)
3. When he\'s feeling a little bit tired and need to strectching his muscles,
then he\'ll do show some of martial arts trick....you know....straight high
kicking the air, etc....
stood memesrized, we did....)
4. He\'s being so gently & very protective towards all his friends.....
i.e. there was this incident, when after done his photograph at swimming
poolside,
BYJ & his friend turned around to go back at where all their crew
waiting.....
perhaps coz by slippery, his friend almost slipped fall down but with quick
reflexes, without turning his head/body, BYJ hold tightly his friend\'s
arms from his back
& keep guarding him for seconds till he felt he could safely released go
his friend\'s arm....
5. BYJ loves to read books
There was this book that he read during the journey, title \"An Ultimate
of Life\" & others, of course.

ahhh, there so many things he did that & that, we could only smile & feeling so
hapy for him coz he\'s happy too....)
