Racing premiere at Cathay Cineplexes pulled local stars

� Hot on the heels of "Evolusi KL Drift" is Hollywood's "Speed Racer", the latest live-action racing flick which raced its way into local screens with a premiere at Cathay Cineplexes Cineleisure Damansara last night (6 May) at 9 p.m. The movie, done by the Wachowski Brothers of "The Matrix" fame, is based on the Japanese classic TV series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida. The premiere last night drew the appearance of many local celebrities, including the cast of upcoming local dance flick "Sayang You Can Dance" such as Amber Chia,Ebi Kornelis, Dafi and Bjarne Wong as well as the rising star Raja Farah.
The stars of "Sayang You Can Dance" and Raja Farah were among the celebrities at the premiere.
Earlier in the evening, there was a car display held just outside the mall, which was organised by auto club LancerGTClub. A number of Mitsubishi cars were proudly displayed to the public, all belonging to members of the club itself. To add to the excitement, there was also a live drifting demonstration, which took place at the loading bay area at the lower ground floor of the mall. Some of the highlights of the demo include stunts such as �donuts' and �figure 8'. One of the drivers even hit the �No Parking' signboard which performing the stunts!
The event reached its climax with the arrival of the local stars who began to flood the cinema lobby around 8p.m. before the premiere began at 8.30p.m. Apart from the photo session, the stars also autographed the "Speed Racer" poster that was displayed at the area.
