I think it is a sound advice to smile when in trouble...
it shows that you have a tough core...seeloknya kita
tidak terlalu resah dengan masalah. Anggap ia boleh
diselesaikan dan fikirkan apa ...
Alamak, tak perasan ada komen buat den....
Actually, to smile when in trouble is just a saying for all the reasons you mentioned...not to be taken literally. In real life I would think the person isn't serious with what he is doing. On the other hand if someone comes up to you with an "issue" and you smile, it would look like you are trying to belittle him for thinking that it is such an "issue". Only the other day someone mentioned this interview he had when the interviewee smiled/laughed at a question. He could not understand it at all as it wasn't funny. He was expecting a more concerned attitude.
So, being concerned of a problem/issue does not mean you are soft but rather you are just giving the issue and those it affect it's due respect. At the same time the brainwork must be done too. That's just my perception lah.......
Oh....I feel good when I got my "system" to work well yesterday. I was so relieved that I celebrated (sendiri je) by buying myself a blouse. Today I took leave to breath.............

can you explain about this ideals, in the context of personal, daily life? |

Democratic socialism is centered on humanist ideals, with the ultimate goal of allowing each individual equal opportunity and means to pursue his or her personal development and individual satisfaction. Such self-realization becomes possible in a cooperative, non-competitive social context.
Bertrand Russel in the Roads to Freedom enumarates: Socialism broadly includes many variations, but in all its forms it means:
- Basic economic decisions, as well as political decisions, must reflect the common good. The entire economy should operate for the good of the entire society, with no one left behind.
- No private concentrations of capital or other wealth, and no other types of private concentrations of power.
- The end of money's domination over society. The end of the priority of property and private greed.
- Socialism will complete what democracy began-- the transfer of sovereignty in all spheres from elites to the people."Communal ownership of land and capital."

the idea came from this gentleman is noble enough i would say. THAT's the idea but somehow in reality like in the former Irin curtain , USSR, things were not what it seemed which eventually cause the downfall of the ideology.
How's his idea differed from Friedrich Engels or Marx in Das Kapital?
i wonder... |
