Second up was fitness instructor Janelle Arthur, 22, from Oliver Springs, Tennessee, who did 'Gone', previously sung by Scotty McCreery.
And by the time she had finished the song, Minaj was once again in her seat.
'I have never heard a female sing that song before and I thought it was great,' said Keith.
Nicki got straight into the show saying 'I thought the song you did last week suited your voice better, I do like that you have a lot more confidence now,' she said.
'You look nice but I want to hear you sing songs that show off the pretty part of your voice. That song did not wow me, but you are electric and beautiful and exciting.'
Randy was also not overly impressed.
'You look great but the thing for me is that the song did not lead anywhere. I do not know if it was a good song choice for you, I did not love it for you,' said Randy.
Mariah was more positive, saying 'Your aura definitely gave me 'star' like you have been up there doing this for years,' said Mariah.
Third was Chicago student Devin Velez, 18, who sang 'Temporary Home' by Carrie Underwood.
'Look, my feeling is that was not one of your better performances. I am going to put it down to the wrong song choice, I did not feel you had confidence in that at all. I hope I get to hear you sing again,' said an unimpressed Keith.
Mariah was more positive saying 'You have the ability to do so much vocally but because of that we expect so much from you as you are that good,' said Mariah.
Fourth up was partially deaf Angela Miller, 18, from Beverly, Massachusetts, who sang 'I Surrender' which Kelly Clarkson did on the show.
'I too surrender. You are such an artist and can take a song from any era and make it feel very now and current. I thought you knocked it out of the park tonight,' said Keith
'You really look like a billion dollars today, Im obsessed with that dress, who made it that? They styled you really well, your legs are giving me everything I need in life today,' said a delighted Nicki.
'This is random but I love the way you walk in heels. You are just perfection on every level, the voice has no flaws you are a superstar.'

Fifth up was Tennessee-born country singer Paul Jolley, 22, who sang 'Amazed' that Scotty McCreery had also covered.
Jolley was told by advisor Jimmy Lovine to cut out the theatrics and to sound less 'Broadway.'
'I love that song. I really feel that you have been listening and the advice has taken hold and that was one of your better performances. Stay on that track, you have got that voice,' said Keith.

The sixth singer up was Candice Glover, 23, from St. Helena Island, South Carolina, who sang 'I Have Nothing', which Jordin Sparks also did on the show.
Her performance earned her a standing ovation from the judges.
'If we had more time we would still be standing and clapping. Gosh I love you so much. When you hit notes they are so effortless and beautiful,' said Keith.
It would be in everybody's best interests to never ever perform that song ever again. They should ban that song, no one should be able to sing that again on Idol because you just destroyed and annihilated it,' said Nicki. 'I can tell when all of us love it, you really worked that song out. Im telling you that is one of the greatest performances on this season of Idol. That was incredible, it had everything, it was perfect,' said Randy. 'When you are on stage I am mesmerized, I am transfixed watching you. A singer of your caliber can do pretty much anything, I listen and it is in my heart after you do these performances. I did not stand up because my skirt is too tight, that is the only reason, you deserved it,' said Mariah.

Up next was stuttering ice cream scooper Lazaro Arbos, 21, from Florida, who sang 'Breakaway' by Kelly Clarkson.
'I hope we get to hear another song from you because I do not feel like that one was in your wheelhouse,' said a skeptical Keith.
'I like that you look like Ricky Ricardo tonight but this was my least favorite thing from you babe. I don't want you to speak to anyone, don't let anyone break your confidence. Today you seemed very nervous, go back to feeling confident and that you are great,' said Nicki.
Randy was also not keen on Lazaro's performance.
'The pitch was a little all over the place. That song was way to big for you. You usually pick what is good for you and this was not the right choice,' said Randy.

Eighth to perform was Texas-born country singer, Kree Harrison, 22, who sang 'Crying' that Carrie Underwood had done on Idol.
'You could sing the phone book baby I love your voice so much. If you made a record tomorrow I would go and buy it, I love your voice,' said Keith.
'Sometimes when I wake up every day I will eat waffles, buttermilk waffles, and I will have syrup on it. I will toast it, never burn it but warm them up a little bit. It was smooth, delicious, it was fun. I would enjoy that performance on my own at home, sat on the couch eating waffles,' said Nicki.
Randy was also a fan.
'I love you, I love your voice, from note one I am in. You have one of those infectious voices. It makes me feel warm all over. I get tingles. Amazing vocal again, very subtle and subdued but you put feeling into everything you do,' said Randy.

Up ninth was Hurricane Katrina victim Burnell Taylor, 19, from New Orleans, LA, who sang 'Flying Without Wings' that Ruben Studdard had done.
'You have a unique timbre about your voice. You have an eccentricity that is very pure and magnetic, that was great tonight,' said Keith.
'Hmmm, I love that song, I was obsessed with Ruben's first album,' said Nicki.
'I love you, I think you are well on your way, you stay in your lane and whenever you sign another artist you put your own twist on it.'
Randy was also positive.
'Very, very nice man. You put your own twist on it and I like that you do that. When you first came in you were great, then you had a lull period when you were not really in the zone, now, Mariah, this kid believes and I think America believes.'
'We know we have our own little history, we were there the first time you sang and there is something about you that makes me emotional when you sing,' said Mariah.
Mariah also said she felt that Burnell could 'go all the way' and win Idol.

The last contestant of the night was Amber Holcomb, 18, from Houston, Texas, who sang 'A Moment Like This' by Kelly Clarkson.
'That was beautiful. I am a fan. I love how effortless you sing even the crazy big notes are so easy,' said Keith.
'That was the best performance of the night. Your voice and aura reminds me of Whitney Houston's first album,' said a delighted Nicki.
'That last night was giving me Whitney, Whitney baby. I am impressed with your beauty charisma and grace. Your voice is on another level and this is so simple for you,' said Nicki.
Randy also could not get enough of the talented teenager.
'It is the greatest Idol finale song ever, Kelly Clarkson one of my favorite Idols of all time sang it, and you blew it out of the box tonight. I feel you have arrived and you feel like you belong here. Guys where you at? The girls are killing you tonight,' said Randy.
'You really sounded magnificent, I do not care what you wear, or if there is wind in your hair, you have a natural gift that is beautiful and cannot be explained,' said Mariah.
