Multiple sources connected to the reality singing competition show told the gossip website that the Hollaback Girl hitmaker will join the upcoming season, which starts taping in June.

The news comes after judge Christina Aguilera, 33, announced she was pregnant in February.

Around the time of the announcement, producers from the reality programme started looking for a replacement.

TMZ also reported that the Genie In The Bottle singer wanted to stay on the show through her pregnancy but is already having a difficult time and chose to bow out.

The No Doubt lead singer's deal is currently for one season as Christina has already signed on for her return to The Voice during season 8.
